According to Vescey, the new Kings owners have Larry near the top of their list to replace Geoff Petrie. Apparently, Bird wants $5+ million per year and possibly partial ownership just to consider them.
Also, David Morway is another finalist. Obviously, they would not go together to SAC as they had a massive falling out here which led to Pritchard taking over for Morway here.

Re: Sacramento Pining for Bird?
Hopefully Bird comes back to the team taking over for Walsh (who seemed to only have come back to give Bird a break). Pritchard already seems committed to staying with the team which is a good thing. This would be ideal for him to come back and finish the job. Ultimately if the kings a make an offer that he cant refuse; it creates question marks around the teams core; and even Vogel (Bird's hire) depending on the success in the next two years.

Re: Sacramento Pining for Bird?
would be nice to have Larry return.
he's the chief architect of this team,
after all.
isn't it that Walsh also reached out
to LB if he'll come back? any word
on that? or is it moot that with all
these reports linking him to SAC,
it's either he takes the job there
or just takes another year off?
i think it's a crucial time as well for
us to know what with our season
ending already (and successfully
at that, if i may add), as well as
building from the gains of the past
year.

I wouldn't mind Bird getting an ownership stake here. the next generation of Simons is not supposed to have the same level of interest in the team that Mel had and Herb has.

I would hate to see Bird leave to go to Sac-Town. We need him back.
