The Blazers should choose whoever that airhead Mike Rice says sucks like he did w/ Drummond.

It's interesting that ESPN (Chad Ford and Jay Bilas) both say if anyone in this draft class
becomes an all-star caliber PG, its MCW for he has size, floor vision and smarts and only
needs to show teams he can shoot. Their top 4 picks at PG are:

1) Burke
2) McCollum
3/4 MCW and Dennis Schroeder

From a Blazers perspective, I hope all these guys (with the exception of McCollum) go ahead
of us. I'd love it if Detroit took Schroeder at 8 after Sacramento took MCW at 7. Let the
Wolves pick Pope at 9 and we'd have all sorts of options at 10 and our pick would get really
valuable around the league if Len were on the board.

Any interest in Jeff Withey? Could be a perfect pickup in the late first, early second. Lets say we trade both #39-#40 for Withey. Draft KCP and Kabongo @ 10 and @45 would you be happy with the draft. Withey was an amazing rim protector and I think if he falls to early 2nd round is a huge steal.

I'd like to see if we could package 39,40 for a pick in the 20's for there will be teams
looking to trade out of the draft if they have free agent hopes. The Clippers at 25
might be a candidate. especially if Dieng or Gobert are still around

I like the idea of Withey or Dieng late in the 1st a lot more than Adams or Gobert in the top 10.

I REALLY like Withey.. The dude is like the next Przybilla (okay, not quite as Gorilla-ish), he knows his role is to protect the paint and he does it damn well. He'd really be ideal as a backup C and compliment LaMarcus very nicely. Pairing Withey with a McCollum would instantly improve our bench.

I feel like there will be a lot of picks for sale in this draft. I think Portland values their 2nd rounders though since they own the Stampede and they can just send guys down there to develop. Hopefully we can buy a mid-late first rounder though.

MCW is the pick with the biggest home-run potential for the Blazers. If, and that is a huge If, he could develop an effective 3 point shot, he would be the perfect fit next to Lillard. MCW can drive the ball to the basket, which is one of the Blazers biggest needs, as well as handle the ball some so Lillard can be a scorer.

But, if he can't fix his shot, he could be a total bust.

I also really like Withey. I don't think he get's past Minnesota's second pick, since he would bring some shot blocking that both Love and Pekovic lack.

But if we could acquire a late pick, he would be one of my #1 targets.

If you read the comparative analysis on BE the poster who has been evaluating prospects state Whithey. S/b a lotto pick and grades out higher than Adams, Len, Dieng.

Lol. I did an analysis on per-minute stats and came out with Withey as second best big behind Noel.

However the list went Noel, Withey, Gobert, Dieng, Olynyk, Plumlee, Zeller, Adams, Len - so obviously I am taking it with some salt.

If anyone was interested...

This was the defense ranking (on purely a statistical basis): Noel, Withey, Gobert, Dieng, Plumlee, Adams, Zeller, Len, Olynyk.

This was the offensive ranking (on a statistical basis): Olynyk, Zeller, Gobert, Dieng, Len, Plumlee, Adams, Noel, Withey

Supposedly the Knicks want him back so #24 at least. I think he and the 2nd's could get us as high as 13 though

How is Gobert better than Dieng offensively?

Adams seems to rank pretty low based on this.

Probably because it's a purely statistical analysis, and Gobert shot 70%. Just a guess.
