[comments refer to the original poster's design]

I'd like to see versious of this uniform with a blue and white "Huskies" team name (someone on one of the other threads had come up with a cool Huskies logo), but if we have to keep "Raptors", these are the best I have seen.

I REALLY like the white home uni's. Might try changing the chest letters to "Toronto" as opposed to "Raptors", but I'm good either way. I think it's usually city name on away jerseys and team name on home jerseys.

On the black away jerseys, I would keep the Raptor head on the "Toronto" lettering on the chest, but change the logo on the matching shorts to the claw.

Has anyone tried this font yet:

Again, I think it just has a classic, timeless look to it that will always feel like and remind us of Toronto. It was made in 1954. If you can't find it a variation on Futura (created in 1927) will probably suffice.

It will seem timeless outside of Toronto (Like Brooklyn's does) but personal to people who recognize the font in the GTA.

True.

I'd like to see something more conceptual on here. It's been almost 2 decades since we inexplicably allowed an american science fiction movie dictate how we want to be represented as torontonians and yet almost 20 years later -while it seems as though we have another opportunity to reinvent ourselves - it seems like people are still pretty much drawing tacky dinosaurs and playing off stereotypical concepts related to dinosaurs. where's the appreciation for the huskies as a historically significant name in our city's history and basketball in general?

actually, now that I think about it, you probably shouldn't send this to the star.

1. you didnt actually create the logo
2. you didnt actually design the jersey
3. you didnt actually take the time to add any details that make it your "own"
4. you HAVE taken credit for it all by putting your name on it

not cool bro. not cool. I could see you maybe doing a thing like "courtesy of RealGM - Toronto", but even that is a stretch since the logo/jersey (project34) came from a dude on reddit.

I get what you are trying to do, and appreciate the effort, but its like...ethically...wrong to take cred for it.

Dinosaur is a little big for me in the first one, but it still looks good.

Looks like you took a little bit of the best of everything from our thread & incorporated it.

Good job.

Edit: I wonder what it would look like with that Raptor head replacing the "R" in Toronto.

I was wondering the same thing in regards to the Raptors head in place of the "R".

Or

How about a full body Raptor (in this style raptor) in the centre of the Jersey like the oldschool version.

LOL .. did this guy really just invert the color scheme of the professional looking idea posted 100 times, add the logo in photoshop he copied from somebody else, steal the shading from another guy and make a brand new thread about his picture? wow.

also .. with the whole re-branding idea based around becoming more of canadas team, while our current jerseys already are red and white with a canadian flag on the back ... dont you think these dark black jerseys with some modern looking raptor on them is a little eh.. non-canadian?

Sheer ignorance.

I didn't design these jerseys or send them in for myself, I wasn't even thinking of doing this until I read the original thread. If you read through it, several people asked someone to render the template with those specific jerseys and then send them in.

Nowhere on my post do I say it is my original design or logo smh, its been posted around these boards several times, but at the end of the day no one will notice the design until someone puts it on that template and sends it in, the only reason my name is on there is because I posted this thread before submitting them for the contest, if I left nothing on there someone could have easily sent them in instead, regardless of whose design it is, someone had to put it on the template.

The only reason for even posting the design in its separate thread was because I only put time into this and put it together for the people who requested it in the other thread, and I wanted their opinion because it was their idea, that I just put into fruition, so its only right they judge it.

The name of the thread itself is "REQUESTED Uni" and I added the full original uniform jpeg onto the opening post, and it has all the original designer's info at the bottom.

So please refrain from being ignorant.

that shading seems eerily similar...

Correct, the shading on the pants is from this version, the shading wasn't very difficult, but does consume quite a bit of time, so rather than redoing it I thought this was more efficient, I did do the sleeve and most of the shirt myself though. The idea isn't even mine, so its not like I could get credit for it in the first place, 99% of the guys on this board have seen this design before and I put the original in my post, I just wanted it to be submitted into the star so these beautiful jerseys can get some recognition.

As for this being Canada's team and all that, sure, we still retained the red though, and I'm sure there would still be a Canadian flag on the back; these are away jerseys anyway, so the home jerseys will still be red and white..

Its still a heck of a lot more Canadian than the Huskies suggestions.. So I think its still a viable option.

I'm only being a douche about it cuz it was MY time that was put into it.

And like I said, I can appreciate what you are doing, just think it was a bit weird that you put your name on it. Thats all.

Love that Huskies logo... the number in the corner isn't a good idea though. Somehow find a way to center it... either in the middle of the logo, or directly above it.

The huskies colours are nice but the logo looks nothing like a Husky. That looks like a demon lol

Husky one is nice, I would put the number on the front of jersey down onto the front of the left leg personally.

Yeah I agree with you completely, but I thought the measurements on the jersey for the template were a little inaccurate but in reality there would be more space to place the numbers.

I don't mind the idea for the number on the left leg either.

If we are re-branding and changing the name, it makes sense to change it to Huskies..it's an easy choice. I'm biased because I prefer Huskies over Raptors..but won't hate if they stay as is.

If anything, you'll see a tweaked version of the Huskies jerseys they wore in 09. Blue, white..and maybe 3rd colour..grey? I know some will b!tch that it's too close to the Leafs, but so what? They're both under same ownership and there's history between both teams.

Appreciate the effort on the Huskies, Hassan! I'm not a huge fan of logos on the fronts of the jerseys personally but others might. IMO, the most classic-looking jerseys (Lakers, Bulls, Celtics, etc) are just font/number placement and sharp colors.

I'm under the impression the Huskies logo itself isn't yours so I'll be blunt regarding whomever did design it. It's much better than I could do but I would hate it if they went with something as busy as that. It's far too close to the T-wolves as well with the head-on look. Way too many squiggles and details going on there doesn't look symmetrical enough to be a logo.

If you have the time, Hassan, I'd REALLY appreciate it to see how a maple leafs blue color would look without the futurist design around the collar bones and chest and just the Toronto Subway Font, with a grey outline, kerned out at the space it is normally with a large number only where you currently have the logo.

I honestly think it will look clean and classic like Brooklyn's jerseys look. It'll look like its been in the NBA for decades. This is just an idea and if I had the skill I'd do it. If you aren't up for I'll obviously understand but I think it would look good enough to enter as it would be T.O.'s version of this.
