Jazz workout thread

Post#1 » by Farsider322 » Fri May 31, 2013 9:36 pm

I just read about James Sutherland being scheduled to work out for the Jazz on AirAlamo.
Since the FO hasn't released a list of players yet, I was thinking we could list them here as we hear about them.
The article doesn't have a day, just that he has a workout scheduled.

Zeller is mocked around the 7 position. I wonder if the Kings would be looking to trade down for the #14 & #21?
Probably would make the Jazz take Jimmer.
I would hope the Jazz pass and draft a PG & SF.

I like Siva as 2-3 PG
It's time to jazz with Hayward and Favors!

I think Zeller would look awfully nice in a Jazz uniform. Having a 7 footer who can stretch the defense was "money" for the Jazz once upon a time. I think someone along those lines would be the perfect complement to Favors and the Istanbull.

Shane Larkn & five others:
The tryout session will also include North Carolina guard Reggie Bullock (6-7, 205) and North Texas power forward Tony Mitchell (6-8, 235), both of whom are getting first-round buzz in mock drafts.

North Carolina State guard Lorenzo Brown (6-5, 186), Oklahoma forward Amath M'Baye (6-9, 208) and Nevada guard Malik Story (6-5, 215) are the other NBA hopefuls who'll take part in this six-man session with the Jazz's basketball staff.

I really like Reggie bullock. Plays D and is long range bomber. Cannot dribble pentrate or create hisown shot, but is a reat defender and a great 3 shooter.

I hope Larkin has a great workout. He's still my guy.

Kind of intrigued by Mitchell here... lets see what he can do.
Larkin's combine seems to have open some eyes, and dude appears to have real attitude a a very nice long shooting touch and speed for the dribble... sounds a good mix...

So far this year it seems the Jazz have set up hopefuls v. prospects scrimmages. Is this a new thing?

No, that's biz as usual- trying to find a diamond in the rough. I like the approach.

Steven Adams also. Looks like some potential second round guys in Kenny Kadji, Richard Howell, Peyton Siva, and Jack Cooley.
