I would absolutely love that. Even if there is an NFL team with the same name. Too bad the Argonauts are not Toronto's NFL team, because that would be awesome too.

As I've said before, I prefer they keep the name they have...just give it a more vicious image makeover.

I like the name fine and don't want to change it. Maybe a possibility is just becoming the "Toronto Raps", like when the Devil Rays became the Rays or the Mighty Ducks became the Ducks. Or the Toronto Claws which although a change, at least has a connection to the original and can use the same logo

It should stay Raptors...like others have posted, we've suffered through too many years to just go and change the name while we about to make a serious turn around. We can't hit our 20 year anniversary and then become something new, makes no sense.

I'm not a fan of the Huskies name but I could rep the name Toronto Terriers (from that wiki post). Coud be a dope logo with a wild lookin pitbull.

Come to think of it, imagine the cross promotions if the team got named The Beavers. Wouldn't be hard to attract FAs then...

Realistically though, leave it as Raptors. It's fine. It's pretty distinctive. And Huskies is just boring.

If I was changing the name completely from Raptors or even Huskies I'd probably go with something like Toronto Raiders (my favourite NFL team) or to play off JV's idea Toronto Roughriders, just something that sounds tough.

As the poll shows, Raptors is by far a better name than Huskies.

Raptors is a good brand name...........why pick an animal? many teams in the nba as well in many other sports team have animal names. Raptors is a unique name. Who doesn't like a prehistoric creature who is aggressive, smart and run in packs? sounds like a basketball team I want to watch.

I can't say I'm surprised that the poll has skewed Raptors as this is a hard core Raptors community. What I would be interested in knowing though is what the general public and casual fan in the city thought.

I bet Leafs Nation would be all over this Huskes redesign and if that's the case MLSE could think cross-over appeal. Remember, that's what they're looking for. They want to pull in demographics that they currently lack. Blue is a very popular color for clothing. Far more people feel comfortable wearing blue than bright red.

I like the huskies name but decided to stick with Raptors. The name is not the problem. MLSE Has bigger fish to fry and should worry less about the team name and more about the team roster.

Toronto Huskies and Toronto Raptors are the only legitimate options. That said, here are some other ideas...

Toronto Towers
Would mostly be a cityscape logo but would also apply to the tall players themselves. TT would look good in a hat.

(Union station is a hub) and trains hasn't been done and could work with kids. also, the steam whistle brewery is just down the street. TT would look good on a hat.

Toronto Red Coats
(The Americans play up their military. We have British ties, defended Canada and burned their White House ). We could keep the jerseys red obviously as well.
