I am leaning more towards Porter now. I some Danny Granger in him. Good all round player who can play both ends. He could pair on the wing with MKG and if he adds some bulk could play some small ball 4.

I like that Danny Granger comparison. It's not as lazy as the Tayshaun Prince one that people keep throwing out there. I wouldn't mind seeing Porter in a Bobcats, soon to be Hornets, jersey if Cho is sold on him being a legitimate perimeter threat with versatility to score in other ways

Better stroke than Prince I think. I also like his mid range game. He has a great mid range jumper. He scored all over for a Georgetown team that had some troubles scoring at times. I just watched some film and he jumped out at me as Grangeresque. Granger was who I wanted with the second pick in that draft but he has knee concerns. I have heard of no issues about Porter. Also he turned 20 like 2 days ago so he is still very young and could beef up some.

Decidedly less athletic than Granger. I'd argue that he's less athletic than Prince coming out. He's got kind of an old school game to him that you don't see much in the NBA anymore. His floor/ceiling is pretty hard to peg down b/c it's wholly dependent on his skills more than his athleticism or size. These guys seem to boom or bust, either his skills will translate and the NBA will feel old hat immediately like Paul Pierce or something won't translate and he won't have the athleticism to overcome it like Ammo. Just depends on the space between his ears. He seems like he has really good IQ so I doubt he'll bust but I don't think his upside is as high as a top 5 pick suggests nowadays.

Pointless thread....
1. He will go in top 3
2. We have MKG and Taylor.

5. Otto Porter Jr.

Secret NBA Draft Big Board Rating:80.0

High Score: 10

Low Score: 6

Ford's comments: Porter was only one of three players to get a 10 rating (Noel and McLemore were the other two). But he also received several 6 ratings, showing a significant split between voters on Porter's future in the NBA. Where some see the next Scottie Pippen, others see Tayshaun Prince. It looks like his draft night range is 1 to 6.

Given Noel's injury, Porter might be the surest thing in this year's draft. The Big East Player of the Year rates well across the board; his only statistical weakness (a category in which he's in the bottom 25 percent of past players at his position entering the NBA) is usage rate. Note that Porter, despite playing two years at Georgetown, is younger than freshmen Anthony Bennett and Shabazz Muhammad.
