Thing is...coming up with a name is pretty tough.

And lets be honest...most of them kinda suck.

So I have no problem with Raptors. I have no problem with the dinosaur association (as long as we stay away from purple). After all, at least its a bad-ass dinosaur. Its not like we're called the Toronto Brontosauruses.

And Raptor sounds pretty cool. That's why there is a Raptor jet, a Raptor truck, a Raptor ATV,

Now I know our Logo has always been a single Raptor... but our name is Raptors.

Can anyone come up with a cool logo utilizing a pack of Raptors?

Silhouettes of a pack attacking perhaps?

They are always portrayed in media hunting in packs, never a singular.. as well the thought of multiple attacking bird lizards is more intimidating than a singular dino.

I LOVE that logo.. add that to what the guy in the ther thread made about the huskies and this is what we need to do. It's our history as a city, within the NBA... The Huskies are a pioneer team in the NBA... we need to show the rest of the NBA that we were the ones who did it first. I love it. It illustrates Canada, and our history... it is what we absolutely NEED to do.

He's clearly an animation guy. The talent is impressive but I think the Husky is too much like a comic book design and not something I can imagine on a hat.

The T.O. Concept is interesting but because of the design it looks like T.U. or like some clothing brand logo (Nike's Tiger Woods clothing line logo comes to mind) until your mind actually tries to put the 3D aspect of the two letters together in your mind.

T.U. Is not the first thing you want millions of people thinking when looking at your design. I can already hear boyfriends across the country explaining to their girlfriends, "No, see. It's not a T.U. It's actually a T and an O but the O is pointy at the bottom and the Letter T is behind it-- Nevermind."

If they decide to really look into changing the team name, there should be a city wide vote for a few weeks-- something similar to what they did when they picked the name in the first place.

I dont know why there is such a love affair with the name "Huskies". To me there is nothing wrong with the name "Raptors" , it was picked through a vote wasnt it? So what if Jurassic Park was popular at the time, does that even matter? People chose that name out of a whole bunch of other options at the time too. The only thing stupid about the franchise was the actual jerseys they used at the beginning, not the name.

I for one will not be a fan of the team anymore if they switch the name to Huskies without some sort of proper vote. Huskies are one of the most friendly, nicest dogs,

Starting to hate this Tim Leiweke guy. If the team didn't have such a bad historical win-loss record they would not even be talking about switching the team name at all. The Huskies existed for 2 seasons and have a worse historical winning percentage than the Raptors so you can't even use that as a reason to pick such a terrible nickname.

Someone make a vote thread on this site and after 3 -4 weeks submit it to Tim Leiweke and the organization. Hell, we need people out on the street asking as many people as possible. Huskies? lmao

I agree. Toronto's skyline is one of the more recognizable ones in the world. I would definitely not mind an alternate jersey that features the skyline in a way, similar to "The City" in the Warriors jerseys.
