Flip on KFAN confirms the belief: Oladipo is ahead of McLemore on the #Twolves board.
Surprise, surprise. Rumors that we like Oladipo.... Minnesota put him #1 or #2 on their draft board

I'm bitterly disappointed that Saric is withdrawing from the draft. Big fan of his.

I didn't want him and I thought he was a likely pick if Dallas were to keep #13. So in a way I'm glad cuz I think it puts #13 more in play.

I'd take player more likely to be an all star (Mclemore) over Oladipo. Neither player is
worth trading major assets to get however.

Absolutely agree. Dallas liked him because he was one player who wouldn't likely come over so they could have more cap room. As they are trying to clear cap room, I also think this makes their pick more available.

If "Papa" could get us to 24 I would be stoked. Draft KCP @ 10 and Whithey @24. Draft 2 Euros and Kabongo in the 2nd and this drafts a home run.

Reminds me of Roy Hibbert.

Edit: We all saw how anchors on D who protect the rim can help a team, Lebrn and wade wouldn't try the paint when Hibbs was in the middle, I think Len could be like that, I doubt he drops, but you HAVE to take him if we can't trade the pick.

Len is best case scenario big in this draft to me. I can't imagine he'll be around at 10 though.

I'd actually like to see us draft Noel, Len, Adams, Gobert, and Dieng and have them fight to the death. Victor gets to start.

I agree.. He's raw but has the physical tools to be effective immediately. I'd be happy with a Leonard and Len at the 5. Doubt he's there at 10 though.

I watched the Len video, then went and watched Leonard's video from last year. Len seems to have a bit more length and plays with more efficiency. He does a nice job of keeping the ball up and really looks like an NBA center. But Leonard looks like a better athlete. His movements are wild and unrefined, but he moves incredibly well. His drives and dunks are impressive. He makes Len look stiff.
Len is probably going to be better. And he really should be getting more consideration at #1 in this draft. But Leonard actually has more upside I think. If he can put it all together.

Finally saw the jamaal Franklin scouting video, and I was super impressed. The guy reminds me of Wade, no joke. His knock is his jump shot but the Kings workout had him drilling all of his shots no problem from everywhere
my gut had told me McCullom is the guy for us at ten, with Zeller and Len being my second choices, but I have a really strong feeling about Franklin.
Don't think he's an allstar or anything, but he looks like a really valuable role player and possible starter. I think barton and him would compliment each other very well in the second unit.
He's also a great slasher, which this team has sorely lacked, and the main reason people keep bringing up Evans.
If we could get the 13th pick I would snatch him up.

Yeah, fair assessment. I'd love to have them both in the stable competing for minutes.
Meyers' shot blocking frustrates me sometimes because he always closes his eyes and looks away when going for a block (I can't be the only one that notices this). If he's worried about getting his eyes poked maybe he should wear some goggles or something? Because great shot blockers need to keep their eye on the target.

I'm a fan of Franklin too. I think what is most appealing about his game is he really seems to have some dog in him and that's something that ALWAYS translates. You can't really go wrong with a guy that prides himself on D and hustles his tail off. Would be a great addition to our team.

I've been big on Franklin for a while myself. I don't see how we can conceivably get him though because if we're getting 13 I'd assume it's to move in a trade for Gortat or another veteran.

#Blazers Friday predraft workout #1 features: G Glen Rice Jr, G Larry Drew II, F E.J. Singler, G Ian Clark, F Ed Daniel, F Trevor Mbakwe
Another workout is planned in the after-noon. I would suggest a big name doing a solo workout. Your thought?

This was the defense ranking (on purely a statistical basis): Noel, Withey, Gobert, Dieng, Plumlee, Adams, Zeller, Len, Olynyk.

what was the criteria and who did the rankings?...link?
This was me, and it was supposed to be per-minute box-score stats and based on how they used/created possessions. However, you made me go back and look at my calculations, and I found some errors that I have been trying to iron out.
Anyways, on the offensive end a player would be credited with creating a possession from offensive rebounds and assists, and penalized for turnovers. A made FG would count for a possession, and a made 3 pointer would count for 1.5 possessions, but a miss in either counted one possession against them. Free throws (both made and missed) were 0.5 possessions. I am unsure if this is a great metric (it probably overrated Gobert's ridiculous FG%) because as soon as a player shoots below 50% on 2pt or FT's (or below 33% on 3pt) it penalizes them for being inefficient - so it really might not work for judging guards - however it does reward a player for maintaining efficiency on high volume.
The defensive rating was a little more straight forward: A defensive rebound, a block or a steal counted as a possession, while a personal foul counted against them.
Anyways, when I redid the calculations, here is what I got.
Offensive ranking: Olynyk, Zeller, Gobert, Dieng, Plumlee, Len, Adams, Noel Withey.
Defensive ranking: Noel, Withey, Ding, Plumlee, Adams, Zeller, Len, Gobert, Olynyk.
Overall ranking: Noel, Withey, Olynyk, Dieng, Plumlee, Zeller, Adams, Gobert, Len.
It's a little odd that they 4 prospects we are linked too most often are the lowest rated by this system. Obviously it is flawed, I am not trying to claim to be a statistical guru or anything.
Anyways, if anyone wants to check out what I did, and possibly include your own analysis, I have created a dropbox with some compiled stats (from DraftExpress). If anyone is interested in this resource the username is realgm.blazers@gmail.com and the password is blazers.
