I have a guy who was in my beginner class with me who basically tore all his CLs in his knee playing soccer. Rested it for awhile and then figured soccer was too high impact so started bjj. Any position that puts too much pressure on his knee, he'd just tap or sit out the drill. Honestly haven't seen him do that though since the first month or two of class.

Just an anecdote I figure'd I would share, in case you were ever considering training again. My experience is that guys are super accommodating to injuries. Can't speak for judo, again that's a little rough as you know. lol

This has been a **** week for training. Haven't gone once so far. Monday was a stat holiday in Canada (gym was closed) and tuesday really has nothing for me (BJJ class is too early). I feel like I am starting to catch a cold (getting a sore throat).

This is likely due to the idiot that was my partner for Judo last week. After 30 minutes of throwing each other, he tells me "Sorry let me go blow my nose, I am getting over a huge cold". I really wanted to throw the kid around after that. I showered like crazy when I got home but too little too late. I could have gone tonight but making it to work tomorrow is my #1 priority (plus I had to go see an apartment I might move into). If it really catches on as a full cold, I might not be able to train until next week.

Also the two gi's I ordered last thursday haven't even shipped yet. They ran out of stock on the blue one so they stopped the entire order until I picked a new gi. Pretty frustrating.

On the bright side, at least you get to choke (or try to choke) the guy who got you sick.

I finally got my Kingz gis in the mail today. I got size A3L which is supposed to be for tall lanky guys and the fit is amazing. The belt is much better than the fuji one as well. I got their normal blue gi and a really light white gi. My fuji gi is going to be used a lot less now that I got the good stuff. I should be fine with 3 gis for the time being.

Another cool thing is a friend from work might join my gym so I might have inspired someone to try BJJ. He was a Judo black belt as a teen so he should be much better than me but he will be a white belt all the same (assuming he joins).

Have my first bruised rib. Happy its not broken but hurts a lot.

How good are Kingz gis? A couple of guys made it seem like it was the holy grail or something (Someone said "wow you went all out"). This is where I got it.

http://www.fightersmarket.com/Kingz-450 ... p/kz14.htm

Seems like a below mid- to mid level gi to me.

Ive messed around with quite a few different gi's, but for the last 4 years I will only spend money on Korals. I have other brands but they were given to me.

Those seem nice. I have a Keiko which I love. Drawstrings ftw.

Drawstrings Rock! I put them in my Koral. Koral is preshrunk so u never have to worry about shrinkage, they also have tapered sleeves which really helps against guys who like to play the sleeves game..(Spider,cross,shins in arm pits) Koral are also pretty lite aswell for a non summer gi.
