Should Vick give up being a QB?

Post#1 » by tcorbin » Sat May 4, 2013 8:46 am

Vick just seems like an average QB who has some sparingly brilliant moments, but will never be as good as Drew Brees, Steve Young, or the likes.

Vick has already been in the league for over 10 years, with no major improvement in his QB skills since his second year.

Vick is a great football player, but seems like only an average QB

In a word, no. He may not be the star people thought he could be but there definitely aren't 32 better QBs in the league right now.

Vick at QB was a worthwhile experiment to take, but it just never worked out. if you could go back in time, and coached properly, Vick could have been a rich man's Eric Metcalf, with a production similar to Marshall Faulk.

Anyway, he is still a good gimmick QB

This is just flat out wrong. it doesn't matter how good you are, you will never be a franchise QB if the team cannot depend on you, and an NFL team can never depend on Vick being their or being productive at the end of the season. His game just makes him ineffective when the team is making a push for the playoffs.

So every QB that doesn't have the skills to be a franchise QB should just give up?

And what other position would Vick play?

It would be pretty ridiculous for Vick to change positions at this point. There's no chance of it happening.

No. To be honest I have never looked at Vick as a QB. He is just an amazing athlete that plays QB rather then being a QB who is very athletic. I hope it makes sense cause that did not come out the way I was thinking it.

Vick has(or had)all the talent in the world. Unfortunately he lacked the brains and the work ethic to truly live up to his potential. There is no way he could switch positions though. Just because he's fast doesn't mean he'd be worth anything at RB or WR.

No he shouldn't.

But I wish he would give up being Philly's QB.

Got to agree with you there. While he's not waht he used to be, he's still starting QB quality.

I didn't say Vick was/is/should be a franchise QB. I certainly wouldn't trust my franchise with him. But as a matter of fact, there are not 32 players in the NFL right now that are better QBs than him, which means he should be a starter. Not every team has a franchise QB.

If I had a mandate to win right now, I'd take Vick over anything Oakland, Jacksonville, Cleveland, NY Jets, Buffalo, or Tennessee can offer, to name a few. Possibly Arizona and Tampa as well.

Vick would be an upgrade for:
Oakland, Jacksonville, Cleveland, Jets, Bills, Titans, Vikings, Chiefs (im not an Alex Smith believer), Rams, Bucs, Dolphins, and he already starts on the Eagles.

That is a total of 12 teams made better by Vick, its not quite half the NFL, but it is still a sizeable pool of teams.

All these people complaining about their quarterbacks need to look around at the lack of depth at the position. Some teams would settle for just finding a starter right now.

cant agree more about this , as you know .he's been played on this position for over ten years . he's got more experience about this position.that's not brilliant to change it now .
