Are the Wolves really going to deal DWill to move up?

I've seen quite a few people mention that Minnesota will likely trade Williams + #9 to move up to #4. Do you think this is true? It seems like Williams would have quite a bit more value than that. I noticed when he got 30+ minutes he averaged 20 and 8 (and shot the ball well). http://bkref.com/tiny/2rKmC

It really seems like he'd have quite a bit more trade value than just trading him to move up 5 spots in the draft. Are people on other teams undervaluing him?

we are looking to get another asset along with the pick we trade up for.

Flip Saunders told that there's no way that's going to happen without the other team in the trade giving up their own fairly valuable asset, and that he sees DWill as someone who'd be a top 5 pick in this draft.

I think right now it seems very likely. I also think Kirilenko's decision could affect whether we trade him. Williams is pretty much in the 3rd spot for both the Small Forward and Power Forward positions so trading him for a starting shooting guard will have a greater impact on the team. I like Dwill, but minutes are just limited for him so the trade makes sense. But if Kirilenko opts out then I think its a different story.

Of course Flip is trying to get us more than just the #4 in return, but what if nothing works out until then and the only offer available is Williams + #9 for Oladipo. I'd do it, would you?

He has low value amongst wolves fans and it's widely believed he isn't very valued by the team. If another team provides an offer the wolves could use they will likely jump on it.

He would be the best PF prospect in this draft, a couple teams with top 10 picks could use him, makes some sense.

Hard to see Charlotte taking Williams.

Though if they did, that Williams-Mullins frontcourt would be terrifying...
...for their own team.

Well, he would probably putting big numbers as a senior for Arizona and considered the most ready prospect in the draft and still not have been exposed in NBA game. So I could totally see Wizards picking him 3rd.

Possibly, but it didn't happen that way, and everyone has seen him exposed. So I don't understand why it's meaningful in the slightest when talking about his actual value.

But you think that they'd rather lock themselves into a player who has already been exposed as a mediocre at best player, instead of taking a chance that a player taken in the early lottery might not suck? Still not getting it.

Nope. And I love Oladipo. That's just too much value to give up.

I'd do it if as long as we were still able to effectively upgrade our big man rotation and still acquire veteran SG. We need serious roster balance and DW may simply be that asset we need to burn to move up and get a SG. I'm also suspicious Flip may be bluffing... trying to get Noel to fall or even Len/Zeller at #9, then acquiring a veteran SG.

Williams would be a top 5 pick in this draft. It's either Williams straight up or #9 + a lesser asset. #9 + Williams would be grossly overpaying.
