Jeff Whithey

I think this guy could be a huge steal. I know an 18-24 minute per game "Banger" doesnt sound like much, but I think he can be a better version of K.Perkins. Not a bad player to pick up on cheap late first - 2nd round contract.

Anyone who can catch the ball, not miss open dunks, and smile every once in a while is a better version of Kendrick Perkins.

I've been a fan for a while. Been thinking Larry Sanders is actually his best comparable. I think Withey is about as athletic, his skill game is about the same and both have impressive IQ/feel, Withey's a little better in that area, albeit Sanders' arms are about 3 inches longer which does make a big difference

He reminds me more of Samuel Dalembert. He needs a dependable jump hook badly.

I don't think he's as athletic as Sanders, but his athleticism is somewhat underrated. He will be a better defensive player than a lot of starting centers in the league. Id say Asik with better hands is a more apt comparison, athough Asik is stronger. Plus, Withey can hit an open 15 ft. shot.

Asik? you serious?

Withey will be pounded by big men in the NBA, he's weak.

Withey is gonna be a defensive stud. If you watch his draft express video, you'll see. He's athletic (watch how he dunks), and he blocks shots without fouling above and below the rim.

Withey is suffering a bit from the number of prospective centers in this draft. It would not surprise me to see him go to the Spurs at 28

He's got a strange build. He looks heavier than he weighs. If there's a guy his weight who can handle big centers, I think it's him. But whether or not he's strong enough is a legitimate question that he's got to prove he's up to answering. The fact that he's 23 is not a good sign, but I'm still a fan of his. He's a very bright player who does so many things right.

Defensively he is going to be very good quite quickly.

The problem is that he is a middling rebounder. Usually you want your defensive bigs to board in addition to playing defense, and he is a bit lacking there.

Offensively, his post game is garbage, but he has a nice free throw stroke, which leaves open the door that he can become a mid range shooter, pick and pop guy.

I think they'd do a great job at hiding his rebounding deficiency.
