And they shouldn't gamble backwards on something like this. Like if CJ McCollum is the Magic's #2 BPA after Noel or Porter/McLemore or whoever and they're taken by the Cavs or whoever at #1, then the Magic try to trade down to McCollum only to find out that two or three other teams actually had him #4-6 BPA range also and one of them goes through with it while the Magic are sitting at #8-9. It's no fun, and they had to trade someone at 2 for a deal that is already backfired or dead on the tracks.

This is reminicent of what happened when we drafted Webber.

Orlando had the 1st pick, Philly 2, Warriors 3.

We wanted Penny, Warriors wanted Shawn Bradley.

The plan was for us to draft Bradley at 1, then send him to the Warriors who would pick Penny at 3 then swap. BUT, Philly would not promise that they wouldn't take Penny at 2. SO, the Magic and Warriors agreed that Orlando would take Webber (who the Warriors were high on as well). The reason being if Philly did take Penny at 2 and ruin the trade, Orlando would not be stuck with Shawn Bradley (7ft 6 center) who they did not need since they had Shaq. If the the player Orlando wanted to trade down for (Penny) was gone, at least they'd have a player they could use (Webber a Power Forward).

Of course it worked out beautifully for Philly who wanted Bradley all along.

I really am intrigued by Ledo, but there isnt any tape outside of high school clips, so its hard for me to say for sure.

I agree. If we trade down past 7 the pick HAS to be McCollum..if not Rob has me stumped... Again lol

The Bucks and Wizards are involved in trade discussions that would send Ersan Ilyasova to Washington for the 3rd overall pick.

Just be glad Otis smith is gone and that's not us trading our pick

Noel's rehab purportedly making great progress.

Chad Ford wrote:How worried should the Cleveland Cavaliers and other teams be about Nerlens Noel's knee? Noel's surgeon, Dr. James Andrews, is confident that Noel's rehab is going well.

"We're really happy with his progress," Andrews told ESPN in a phone interview. "He's several weeks ahead of schedule on his rehab. He's improving on a weekly basis. He has a completely stable knee. The bone plugs are completely healed into the bone. His muscle and weight is returning. He has had no setbacks at all."

Noel looked great in the video of rehab. I have no qualms of taking him at #2 if he's there.

Kinda OT, but here's T-Mac on Duncan signing in Orlando

“We were talking about that the other day on the bus, I told him that I was pissed that he didn’t sign down there,” McGrady said. “He told me that Pops convinced him to come back. That was the draw for him. I knew it would be tough to sign him, but that would have been awesome.”

Some rumblings about the cavs looking for immediate help this year to make playoffs and lure lebron back in 2014. I doubt they pick Noel if that's the case, could use Porter the most. Mclemore could help but is a bit overkill with Waiters.

If we're looking to trade down it would be because there isn't enough separating a #2 pick and the guy we want to take later. In fact, there's every chance whoever we value later in the draft (McCollum/MCW/Burke) might be better than the perceived #2 option.

I bet Rob is the most handsome GM/scout/moneyman there. He and JJ were the most handsome SG/GM duo of all time, proven by scientific studies at Emerson College, now they've been seperated and Rob is on a mission to find himself a very handsome, ridiculously photogenic Euro to fill in the hole JJ left. The fangirls (and some fanboys) of the Orlando Magic demand it.

I've personally bought into the idea that we end up with McCollum via Timberwolves' #9 for most likely our #2 Victor Oladipo.

I'm not sure what the other pieces are, hopefully their #26 is headed our way too. I'd be really happy to have Derrick Williams come off the bench in a sixth man role.

idk why we'd do that. we're trading out of #2 for essentially a 2nd round pick and a guy who has proven nothing in this league and is pretty much a bust. i think we'd be a lot better off just sitting at 2.

Hearing that Cavs management can do what they want with draft and free agency but must make the playoffs.

Steve Kyler ‏@stevekylerNBA 6h
“@kennethmacleod: Does that make Noels at number 1 highly unlikely now if the Cavs keep the pick?” ---> very much so.

Way to assume. How is McCollum a second round pick? Also, Williams may have not become the star the Wolves wanted him to be, but he's not necessarily a bust. Remember, I did say sixth man, not starter. He has proved that he has athleticism, 3 point range and ability to drive the lane. To me, that is not a bust. Not a star, again, but not a bust either. He still has much potential.

that's a loaded statement, every prospect haven't proven anything yet. Just leave the talent evaluations to the experts, in this case just trust in Henny. McCollum is a fine prospect

Edit, just realized you were talking about Williams my apologies
