Roy would still have his shot knees. But Durant/Aldridge would have been a crazy duo.

Personally on this coaching thing...

I think it would have been fine to allow Messina and I don't believe he should automatically be given a negative because you don't know who he is. Should his lack of experience with how the game is played in the NBA be a concern? Sure. But it could/should be offset by how well he's performed outside the US...in managing a professional game. Messina is probably one of the two most decorated head coaches in international professional basketball history (the other is one that is renowned for adjusting his team to the players he has and winning in some of the most unconventionalwways). His coaching style is distinctly more European but it also has elements that are very much found in the NBA. I think at the very least you let TW justify why a guy like Messina would fit his team...and I think he does.

And Mike Dantoni would be the greatest euro coach of all time. The point is Euro ball and NBA ball is a big difference. And u can't judge a person who you've never seen before despite his accolades.

I think that is cool he gets to change his coach. I would of gone a different direction if I had not followed the rules of the BAT. SO I might be making a change at Coach as well

Ha what rules? 2 years ago we had guys picking Rick Pitino. Nobody set the rules until after I picked I guess. I only changed because people were crying about it and said it would be looked at negatively, even though Messina is much more proven than your coach.

yeah i know. but imagine that team with a healthy roy? just the trio of roy, durant, aldridge?

healthy knee roy > wade (unfortunately i'm biased)
durant < james
aldridge > bosh

nobody would agree with me, but i think that's a nice trio right there.

I made the way I was going to judge pretty clear in the beginning. I made the same comment about unproven coaches as well. How can u expect me or anybody else to make judgment on a person who has 0 experience coaching in th NBA?

Can you post your original post when you started this thing Knicksfan20? because things are slowly getting out of hand and we need to calm the waters a bit...

I love and respect all of you posters here but many of us are getting off track here...

Personally, it's on you guys if you want to take a foreign coach that not alot of people know about. You can do it if you want, as long as you don't mind a lot of possible judges not knowing who it is and possibly looking negatively upon your selection. I don't understand why people are up in arms about it, it'll actually benefit more the guys who do have recognizable coaches.

I am fine with that to but if your going to change the rules in the middle of drafting people should be allowed to tweak there coaches based on changes
