I think if you are serious about re-branding and this presents as an option next year, you have to!!!
The PROBLEM is will the team who gets the #1 pick be willing to return Masai's call??
A ton of things have to go the Raptors way, including Wiggins having a bad or not so great year at KU and muddying up the picture as to who is the first overall pick, the team that gets the first pick needs to have a stud SF already in place but a dire need for a center (JV- potential ALl-Star C at that). And then still you are talking about JV +++ to even get the other team talking.. That's why its important to have a solid pick in the lottery ourselves so as to parlay that with JV to entice the team with the first pick. Another reason to support tanking is just that-- even if you don't get the #1 overall pick, you are at least collecting desirable assets to put yourself into position to possibly acquire Wiggins on draft day.
And if the other team doesn't bite, you still come away with, for example, Randle and JV as your future front court, or Parker, etc..
WIN/WIN
Toronto Raptors: Where winning culture is developed after finishing 23-43... So much better than 20-46 because THAT is a disappointing season.
