Absolutely. If Ujiri can come away with Eric Bledsoe and Thomas Robinson this offseason, that would be a win in my book. Two guys with tremendous athleticism, built like football players.

I definitely think we should bring in Robinson as another big for us... he has tons of potential and is still very young... I'd love to have him here beside JV. He should come cheap to. I'd give a lottery protected future first for him if that's what Houston wants.

Don't know if this has been brought up but would you trade Val for the #1 pick in next years draft to draft Wiggins?

What's funny is that I had lunch with Terrence Ross' agent yesterday. We talked about every possible scenario. Toronto never came up.

I think if you are serious about re-branding and this presents as an option next year, you have to!!!
The PROBLEM is will the team who gets the #1 pick be willing to return Masai's call??

A ton of things have to go the Raptors way, including Wiggins having a bad or not so great year at KU and muddying up the picture as to who is the first overall pick, the team that gets the first pick needs to have a stud SF already in place but a dire need for a center (JV- potential ALl-Star C at that). And then still you are talking about JV +++ to even get the other team talking.. That's why its important to have a solid pick in the lottery ourselves so as to parlay that with JV to entice the team with the first pick. Another reason to support tanking is just that-- even if you don't get the #1 overall pick, you are at least collecting desirable assets to put yourself into position to possibly acquire Wiggins on draft day.

And if the other team doesn't bite, you still come away with, for example, Randle and JV as your future front court, or Parker, etc..

WIN/WIN
Toronto Raptors: Where winning culture is developed after finishing 23-43... So much better than 20-46 because THAT is a disappointing season.

Lawson > Jennings

ballislife wrote:I still think a sign and trade of Brandon Jennings for Lowry and Kleiza would be a good deal for us.

I know people think Jennings is merely a chucker, and he'd be a terrible fit beside Gay and DeRozan, but he's still only 23.. there's still a lot of room to grow. In Milwuakee he's never had scorers like Rudy and DeMar to differ to... his passing game is good, I think he can show that a lot more in Toronto. PG's get better with age. Jennings has already done more to prove his worth in the league than Lowry. I think he'd fit in well in Toronto. In the right environment, he can flourish... I think that can be done here.

Yup. Val has the potential to be an all-star, a 16/10 type of player. Wiggins potential is superstar.

It would be tough but, No. Val is more of a sure thing than Wiggins is now.

And Dominant C's don't go on trees. Especially one's with great athleticism and shoot over 80% from the charity stripe.

I really like Wiggins though.

CJ Watson could be a good backup for us.

what are you high on? Kevin Love ??? It'd be a dream to see him come to toronto without trading our whole franchise. Small contract, superstar too? For a bag of primo pasta and potential?

Lol, I might need to add Amir Johnson but I don't want to give him away. I know it's a reach, lol.

what about

Bargnani to Chicago
Boozer to New Jersey
#22 (Larkin) + Humphries to Toronto

Then

DeRozan + Fields to Milwaukee for #15 (Muhammed) + Drew Gooden

Lowry - Larkin
Ross - Muhammed
Gay - Anderson
Amir - Humpheries
JV - Gooden

Then we have Humpheries + one of Muhammed or Ross to deal at the deadline for something

I like the first deal, not sure if we can get the 1st from the Nets though. I'd change the 2nd deal to just a simple swap of Ross for #15 though.

I'd aim to try to draft Schroder+Adetokunbo with those picks if possible (or use #22 to move up a little and secure a prospect we may want in the late lotto).

In this draft Cleveland has 4 picks (2 first, 2 second) and Portland has 4 picks (1 first, 3 second).

I would love to see us pick up one of Portlands picks... they have the 39th, 40th, and 45th picks in the second round... if Kabongo is still available at that point, we NEED to make a trade with them and pick up him. He can be a huge steal that late in the draft.

Why do you think Kabongo is such a steal though? usually 2nd picks that develop in great role players are under the radar ie Danny Green. Myck Kabongo has been on the radar for years... he also cant shoot.

I'm a huge Myck Kabongo fan. He has elite quickness and a tight handle. He can easily be a change of tempo back up guard for us. I think Uriji will get him if he stays in the 2nd round.

Yea, I agree... he's a great leader on the floor and he has good vision. I think he can be a Rondo type of PG... he'd fit in well off the bench, and he can get our athletes the ball in transition. I'd love to see him back home in a Raptor uniform.

we should make a trade for trey burke
i think he will be the best rookie out of this class and we could probably get him if we traded up for the 4th pick or something like that

Trade #1:

To TOR: Gasol
To LAL: Bargnani + Kleiza + Acy + Option to swap 2014 1sts (top 7 protected)

Would save LAL about 4 million, 8 million in tax.

Toronto would get a productive guy like Gasol but also a expiring.

Trade #2:

To TOR: Berea + Outlaw
To SAC: Fields + C.Johnson
To MIN: Hayes

Finish off the off-season
- buy a 2nd round pick draft Myck Kabongo
- Decline Lucas TO

Kyle Lowry / JJ Berea / Myck Kabongo
Demar Derozan / Terrence Ross
Rudy Gay / Travis Outlaw
Pau Gasol / Amir Johnson
Jonas Val / Aaron Gray

Fill out the roster with minimum players. Look for some 3 point shooters
Canadafan wrote:Bojan Burks Stewart for Siakam.
2 expiring vets that help now. A young big to add to the Scottie timeline
I'd prefer to keep Stew and give Monte Morris
I'd really prefer to keep Morris and Stew and give the great Killian Hayes and 2nd round picks

Return to Toronto Raptors
