Bosh for #4 pick?

I think this would be a good deal for the Cats, but why would the Heat do it? Cap Space? I know most people think if is speculation, but this report does add credence, no?

look at the kind of consistent effort and production Bosh is contributing to the Heat, a team he went out of his way and sacrificed to join. now imagine him on a team that he doesn't want, that is the polar opposite of the Heat. little sense in adding a player like that to a young team built around hard work and development.

The only part I found remotely interesting was this:

I just can’t see the merits of that risk, particularly if it involved sending the fourth pick to the Heat. The Bobcats have suffered through two awful seasons. They now have a high draft pick and considerable salary-cap flexibility. Bosh doesn’t strike me as worth giving up all those resources.

Bonnell makes no sense here. He's right that acquiring Bosh this season does take up most of your offseason cap space this summer. However, the Bobcats would still have enough money under the projected $58.5M cap to re-sign Henderson. All they would have to do is amnesty Tyrus (duh), renounce Williams, Mullens, Diop and McRoberts.

After Gordon and Sessions come off the books after the season, you have:

2014-15:
Bosh, $20,590,000 (opt-in)
Kidd-Gilchrist, $5,016,960
Walker, $3,272,091
Bismack, $3,873,398
Haywood, $2,213,688
Taylor, $915,243
Total: $35,881,380

If you add the rookie minimum and draftpick capholds, the Bobcats would still be $20-26M under the projected 2014-15 cap of $62.1M. How is their flexibility killed? If anything, that team looks a lot more appealing to acquire another big time player.

If Bosh chooses to leave, the Bobcats could sign/trade him and get talent/assets as well. They wouldn't have to lose him for flat out nothing.

You do realize that we do have to eventually extend our guys on their rookie contracts right?

Besides, why in the world would anyone in their right mind pay 21+ million for a PF/C that tries to play like a guard? That money could be better suited elsewhere.
