That was another aspect I had forgotten. Granger can play the 4 for some matchups.

And keep in mind we're adding zone to the package next season. It makes Granger's perceived lack of quickness less of an issue.

I know I've floated my share of Danny Granger trade ideas but there's a pretty strong arguement that a guy with Dannny Granger's skills is pretty close to the perfect addition for next season.

This is easy for me. You start Granger and let him get the wide open shots on ball reversal that Lance was getting. Granger will make 40%+ of those shots. That's a huge boost to the offense. Especially that once (or if) he proves he's back to his old self he won't be left alone like Lance. Once that happens you're creating more space for everyone else to move. Huge plus.

On the flip side, if you bench Granger who's going to create offense for the 2nd unit? Granger isn't a guy you give the ball to and let him make it happen. If he gets past 2 or 3 dribbles something isn't going well for the offense, unless maybe it's a post up situation. Hopefully Lance sticks around Indiana like he did last season and the coaching staff really zones in on helping him understand how to play the game with the ball in his hands CORRECTLY, and further refine his jump shot. Let him take his attacking style against opposing 2nd units. He could be much more in the mold of off the bench scorer than Granger.
