What a disappointing second half. Also, really Heat fans? Leaving with 5 minutes left in the 4th quarter during the FINALS?!

Spurs went on a 13-2 run and had the lead with like 3 mins left in the 3rd.

Then Chalmers gets an And 1 and the Heat go on a 23-3 run and game over

Spurs committed too many turnovers and had too many critical empty possessions. Duncan had his worst shooting night ever in the finals

SA will win Game 3 IMO.

That was one hell of a turn around in that game.

Miami was playing really good D though. And the refs were giving Parking no calls on his drives.

And that LeBron block was pure nasty.

But at the end of the day, SA still got what they hoped for which is to win one of the first two before heading home.

When Chalmers outplays Parker, SA has no chance.

On copying the SA model, you can't. People don't seem to get that SA has 3 HOFers - including one of the top bigs ever. The mold starts... with 3 HOFers. Then build around them.

Good luck with copying the starting part.

I don't think you can guarantee the results but you can try to duplicate the process. What impresses me most about the Spurs is they leave no stone unturned when it comes to finding talent.

I looked through some of the All-Star rosters and it was interesting looking at teams who had 3 All-Stars(or one with 4). Early on the teams seemed to either make the finals and if they lost lose to another 3 All-Star team or lose in the first round. Recently it seems to have less of a correlation with play-off success.

Every team who had 3 All-Stars made the play-offs, although it would likely take an epic collapse to miss them after getting 3 players in the All-Star game.

Disappointing game considering how good Game 1 was.

I said Miami in 6 before, but now I think it goes 7. Toss up series. We'll see how the teams play in San Antonio. The Heat role players probably won't do as well on the road. Can't see Parker getting outplayed by Chalmers again.

I don't know if it goes 6 or 7 but barring injury I'm guessing the Heat win again next year. The maddening part is all of the ring chasers. Mike Miller is very good when healthy at least as a shooter & rebounder, Ray Allen is still one of the most dangerous 3 point threats in the game, Battier would start for some teams and be in the rotation for just about any team in the league & he can't even crack the rotation. I'm not sure if you can call Birdman a ring chaser, but he's playing out of his mind & I seem to remember he turned some teams down before signing with the heat.

And 4 if you include Pop. 5 if you include David Robinson who helped Duncan develop into a great player and build the Spurs' winning culture.

David Robinson should get a ring every time this team wins. Duncan is a great player, but D Robinson helped make him. He welcomed him onto the team and then made room for him to grow and helped him do it.

D Rob was a great player and a great person.

I just had a realization that Miami can't be beat 4 times out of 7. I think SA loses tonight despite playing a great game andn ot rebounding.

Mathematically it just boils down to which team will lose consecutive games. The one that does so loses the series. It's really set on a razor's edge right now. I agree that it's hard to see Miami being beat 4 of 7 but it's also hard to see that the Spurs will drop consecutive games especially with the 3 straight home games.

Is it wrong that, the only thing I can think about while this blowout is happening, is how good LeBron is going to be in game 4?

Still, GO SPURS!

That was sweet!

Epic finals beat down. Danny Green locked down defensively on Lebron on one end, and went thermonuclear hot at the other.

Heat fans take that! It was fun to watch.
The Wizards shoukd have drafted Derik Queen

I told you so :banghead:

Man, did Kawhi Leonard look good cleaning the glass and playing great defense, or what?

LeBron scored 15 points on horrid shooting. The one stretch where he scored 9 points and shot well? Kawhi Leonard was on the bench.

Amazing defense.

Just wow.

Spurs need to keep it going. Going up 3-1 would be huge.

I'm sure Lebron will have a better shooting night but I still think you live with letting Lebron shoot like they did tonight. Miller has to cool down & you would think Parker or Ginobli would heat up at some point but Parker could be hurt, even a minor injury that slows him down would be a big problem IMO. Finally, I'd throw Blair in for 5 minutes a half just to soften (further) the Heat's front court.

*Just realized I was offering coaching advice to Pops, I think I'll shut up now.
