What do the various crowd noises even mean in Brazil? There was a lot of hissing but I think it may have been positive...? And they seemed to boo one of their own state fighters after a sub win and at least one guy from Rio.

Thiago Silva is ridiculous but great. No head movement, counters with crazy wide hooks, etc. Perfect guy for the UFC to have on their roster, really. He will get popped after this fight unless he has TRT...which to think, he surely requires at this point. Caio's neck was really thick and veined-out too.

Nog's 1-2s actually looked fantastic. He can somehow still move that body, balance, and hammer home the right.
Hi love, bye love, I will miss my love.

Lots of really cool techniques and good sub d in the Vemola fight... the other fights that ended in submission had slick subs, but not much in the way of grappling exchanges... only one sub attempt in each fight.

For the most part, it was a card that made bjj look flashy, not technical.

The Bigfoot rematch was a mistake and I think everyone knew that going in. But Cain and JDS are so far above the rest (except likely Cormier) that Cain-JDS III probably shouldn't be avoided in such a thin division.

That's true. They're that much better than the rest.

If we have to watch Cain and JDS trade belts for the next 5 years then it is what it is.

The gas tank on Feijao was pathetic. Dude was completely out of it LONG before Silva delivered that uppercut.

And I too am pretty unenthusiastic about a potential Werdum vs. Velasquez fight now. Werdum's BJJ is top notch obviously and his striking is actually pretty crisp. The problem is he can't really keep at it for any sustained period of time. He looked as bad as he did in the Overeem fight. If he doesn't get his pudgy ass in shape there is no way he is going to last with either Cain or JDS (in a rematch).

Look at Werdum's flab roll over itself in the gif when JDS donkey kong KOs him. That's how he looked against Nog. On the flip side, when he boxed bigfoot up for 15 minutes, subbed Fedor, etc. he didn't look quite so flabby. If he shows up like that at the weigh-ins against Cain, whatever SAC is overseeing it should revoke its sanctioning of the fight.

Well said. I can not believe how Feijao basically gassed after 3 minutes (LOL). If he has a similar display in his next fight, it is evident he is not cut out for the UFC.

Easy, champs. You have no idea how their camps went. Wrestling sparring and conditioning, guys are just ruining joints, tendons and muscles...guys absolutely have to go weeks without serious work and have to train while avoiding major body parts in order to let those parts heal. I know a pro boxer who has had to go into a fight having not thrown a single serious punch with his lead hand all camp, nor having done a single push-up or press. Into a professional fight, fought to the KO. That's not uncommon either.

Seriously think harder.

Not to mention, he may have had to do all of the above without anabolic steroids this time around (or cycle off earlier, at the least). :D

I'd hate to see either him or Te Huna go on a losing streak but that's a fight I wanna see. That's got FOTN written all over it.
