I proposed this very deal previously and got killed for it. But it makes perfect sense for both teams IMO, particularly if MU is intent on the rebuild route. The cash flexibility it would afford Toronto in 2014 would be excellent. And for GS, you give up expendable parts for a guy that could open up the floor for your team even more? Why not? No brainer.

I also laugh at all these Bargs proposals that have a first coming back with whatever other piece is involved. Good luck with that.

Take the expirings and walk away happy.

If we could get an expiring contract, and a future first rounder for Bargnani, that's a deal we need to make. An expiring contract of Biedrins would be a huge trade asset, especially if we can make a deal like this prior to July 1.

If we go into free agency with an $11 mill. expiring contract and package it with a young guy like Ross, we might be able to get someone like Al Jefferson or Josh Smith. If not, we can use the contract for a big trade before the deadline. Worst case scenario, we let him expire and open up cap room for next season. There's a lot of flexibility if we can make a deal like that.

I've seen worse players than Andrea get traded for a lot more than they are worth. This board needs to stop completely **** on him. He's a player who can more than contribute if put in the right situation. Only negative is his contract and even then there are a ton of players in the league that are paid way more and don't produce at his level. We may be shocked at what we get for him. If Jose and Ed can net us Rudy anything can happen including Bargnani and Ross for Josh Smith.

Toronto reshifts the roster and gets a little more complete.

This makes NO SENSE

DeMar is good friends with Jennings

Lowry and Rudy Gay are good friends.

The NBA works in groups of friends now. Josh Smith is a friend of Rudy Gay, he might be a realistic option

IF LANDRY FIELDS WASNT MAKING $6.5m THIS YEAR

NBA is not grooups of friends at all.

Miami is a group of guys who only wanted to win titles the easy way. and that is it.

an NBA team is a business. And Demar is a bad fit next to lowry or Jennings and Gay.

I totally disagree, on a go forward basis we"ll continue to see "friends" team up.

demar to the wolves Shved and the 9th pick.
I really like Shved, think he could turn out to be as good as Lowry, which would allow us to move him for something good elsewhere.
9th pick allows us to pick up a guy like Zeller up front to complete our big rotation of Val, Amir, Zeller, Aci

Opens up minutes for Ross, who I think would excel and could end up being better Demar for what his role is.

What do you guys think it would take to get Michael Kidd Gilchrist? DeRozan and Acy?

Why exactly would Wolves consider this? DeRozan is a poor outside shooter a skill the Wolves must have in a SG pairing considering Rubio's lacks an outside shot as well. Not to mention the $ isn't close to working. Don't think the Wolves would move Shevd straight up for DeRozan considering contracts, certainly not adding the 9th pick.

The wolves were very high on Derozan, and he would be the best 2 guard that they've had in sometime, as well as a decent name to bring into the area.
The salary doesn't matter, add Streimsa and a min contract and it works.

They have 4 pg's and a gapping hole at the 2. They need to address that, and they are tired of getting rookies, and have pressure to produce to keep love happy. Derozan fills those needs.

Best SG they've had in sometime doesn't mean he's a good long-term fit skill wise or worth his contract, Wolves wouldn't move 9 alone for him when a superior fit will be available with that pick in Caldwell-Pope. Wolves were the worst 3 point shooting team in the league last year, DeRozan doesn't help that. Shved also plays significant mins at the 2, he's a combo G not 4th PG.

If Wolves were to make a deal like this it would be for Afflao who is a better outside shooter, defender and overall player, also a UCLA player like Love. Not sure the Wolves would have interest in DeRozan even at the small price of Ridnour, Stiemsma and 26, he's simply a poor fit and overpaid.

Andre Kirilenko needs to decide days before July 1 whether he will exercise next season on his contract with the Minnesota Timberwolves or opt for free agency.

Flip Saunders is not sure of Kirilenko's plans.

“We don’t have a gut feel,” Saunders said of Kirilenko’s plans. “It’s a lot of money, at $10 million, to say you’re going to opt out of it. But anything can happen. You know how that goes.”

Kirilenko averaged 12.4 points an 5.7 rebounds in 64 games this season.

i think we should target him to a 2 year $20 mil deal s&t for bargs + a 2nd rounder (if needed).

i think he fits perfectly with our squad right now.

A whole lot more would be needed, Wolves would simply let AK walk if he opted out over eating Bargs' salary.

Why are people so enamoured with Jennings? He's one of the last PGs I want running this team. Yuk.

I like AK as a player, but there is no reason for the Wolves to want Bargnani. They already have two guys that can stretch the floor.

AK47 would be interesting. Would it shock me if Flip went after Gay? It would not

Here's my offseason plan
Same targets i've been advocating for since the end of the season.

First order is to move bargnani, ideally it's for an expiring with less value than Bargs so we can get a 2nd round pick.

Charlie v + 37 or 56 / Ariza + Filler + #38 or #54 / Hawes + Royal Ivey + #42 / Humphries + future 2nd /

With that 2nd rounder i'd target Myck Kabongo

Then i'd go and try and get one of the bigs from Utah or Ryan Anderson

Fields + protected 2014(1-3) (15-30) / for Either Milsap or Al Jefferson Or Ryan Anderson. I doubt this lands al jefferson but the other two are real possibilities depending on how the summer plays out.

Use the MLE on either a back up pg or sf or C depending on the return from the Bargs trade...

So Out - Bargs, Fields, future pick
In - Paul Milsap or Ryan Anderson / Expiring / Myck Kabongo

Lowry / MLE / Myck Kabongo
Demar / Ross
Rudy / MLE
PM or RA / Amir / Acy
Val / Gray /

What I think would be more plausible would be if you turned those Bargnani deals into 3 team deals to land Millsap

Ex-

To TOR: Millsap
To UTA: Hawes + Allen + TOR Future 1st
To PHI: Bargnani

* works because Philly can't trade a 1st for a while.

Or

To TOR: Millsap
To UTA: Hump + TOR Future 1st
To BRK: Bargnani

* BRK over the tax apron can't do a S&T where they recieve the newly signed player. They can be team #3 however
