Hawks One Of Three Teams Fined For Tampering

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Mon Jun 10, 2013 9:16 pm

The NBA has fined three teams for tampering, according to an internal memo.

The Atlanta Hawks are one of the three teams, as the marketing department sent out a letter to season ticket holders mentioning Chris Paul and Dwight Howard by name.

The identity of the other two teams and the amount of the fine has not been disclosed.

Any guesses on who the third team is?

Agreed. Probably Dallas. Surprised they aren't penalizing them like they did the Wolves in the Joe Smith debacle. Anyone know what the differences are?

Wasn't Joe Smith's contract being paid under the table to avoid the salary cap? Simply hyping up potential free agent acquisitions is nothing compared to that

Joe Smith was signed cheap on a one year contract with the promise of a huge deal after that because of cap space.

Not sure how that relates to any of this at all.
