Are you sure it's not CJ Leslie?

Ah ok. Now Travis Leslie makes sense. Sorry for doubting you. :)

This is a free agent camp designed to get summer league players and perhaps a camp invite later.

Have the Jazz held these free agent camps in June in the past? It seems to me that instead they invited some possible FAs, made some invites as favors to friends, and had the rookies/newly drafted players make up the team, which you didn't hear about until July. Do you think that this influences the draft at all?

The Jazz have not done this before. Lindsay brought this practice from San Antonio. This does not impact the draft at all.

McCollum in Utah for a workout tomorrow. He's the second player projected in the top 10 to workout for the Jazz.

Does that mean something?

Absolutely. No agents would ever let their clients in the top 10 workout for a team in the late lottery, unless they knew that there was a good chance that team could move up. Does it mean that they will for sure trade up? No. But from Lindsey's comments a week or two ago, he made it sound like they had the ability to move up if that's the direction they ultimately wanted to go. I can say this though, it's no secret that McCollum has been on the Jazz wish list for awhile. I think right now they are just trying to analyze whether there is more value trading up for a big fish like McCollum, or standing pat because they think I guy like Larkin for example, has a lot of potential at 14.

(Sig notwithstanding) I'm trying not to fall in love with any draft prospects, but I'd be pretty happy if the Jazz found a way to land McCollum.

There might be a deal on the table with Minnesota or Portland. Neither are entirely thrilled with their draft position.

14 + 21 might move up to 9 or 10.

That may work. But I think we'd have to trade up with Sacramento to be safe. I don't think McCollum goes any higher than 7 though.

I'd be ok with the Jazz picking McCollum. Worst case he is Randy Foye. Best case he is a decent scoring PG, in the mold of Lillard.

Giving up 14 and 21 for him? Not sure.

That's why it's a pretty fair deal. Neither Minnesota nor Portland need a PG or combo guard as a priority. There's some possibility that Trey Burke is available at #9 too if he slips past NOLA at #6.

If the front office does make the move they better be right. It will cost us
two picks, and it's still risky. I'm not convinced he's the PG 1 of the future.
He is certainly a NBA ready rotation guy who will contribute though.

If the Jazz give up their 14 and 21 to get either Burke or McCollum, and then are able to get Dallas' pick and get either Olynyk or Franklin, I would be very happy on draft night.
