1) Magic
2) OR
3) Kidd
4) Zeke
5) Stockton

I would NOT put Nash on that list. He was a great PG but a defensive liability and turned the ball over an incredible amount. That said, he was very entertaining to watch.

Edit- I would put Cheeks on that list before Nash..

I've said before that Stockton deserves the Lifetime Achievement Award for longevity & excellence, but that he was never as dominant as Isiah. I'll stick with that.

Don't wanna overrank him, cuz he's not really in my top 5...but shout out for The Glove. Yeah, he talks a lot of smack and tried riding some coat tails at the end, but I really enjoyed the 96 Sonics. During his prime dude was dropping 20-24 ppg along with 8-9 dimes and racking up defensive team honors and 1x DPOY. I'd personally take prime Payton over Stockton based on his scoring and defense.

OR is hard to rank due to both his position and the era he played in. While the stats are impressive, like Wilt, I find it very hard to put those sorta numbers into context with relation to the more recent generations that I grew up watching. Based on what I know about him I wouldn't argue against him being 2nd... seems pretty damn reasonable. It's just that I'm too ignorant on the subject to put him there myself and in fact tend to exclude him entirely since I simply can't speak to it.

Update:

They just had the discussion again. Skip predictably called him a 2 guard again. Chris Broussard said "He averaged 13 assists one season!"

Skip scoffed at it and said Joe Dumars ran the show for the Pistons.

Is Skip being an obvious troll or is there something going on with his health?

He's trolling. Zeke set the single season record for APG. That mark was later broken twice by Stockton, but it was higher than Magic, Nash, CP3 and every other PG who's ever played the game. His career APG ranks 5th all-time, ahead of KJ, Deron, Kidd, Nash, etc. And while Paul is currently ahead of him, it's entirely possibly that he'll slip later in his career depending on how long he plays and how long he's able to remain effective given his diminutive stature.

In his entire career Joe never averaged more than 5.7 apg. The entire argument is absurd and not at all based in reality. But it's just Skip, sooo...who really gives a ****?
