Re: Draft prospects @ 10
The Blazers can use a player at any position. SG is probably the one position I would least worry about at this point with Matthews, Barton and even Batum. I still believe the Blazers will resign Elliott Williams, as well. Every other position is wide open for backups and perhaps a starting center.

Interesting you should point that out. Just as recently as this morning I saw a tweet from a reporter who quoted a GM who said something to the effect of, 'There's a lot of guys in this draft who're going to average 8 or 9 points for their career and Oladipo is one of them.' Whether or not that one GM's opinion is league wide, who knows, but he's definitely someone that's impossible to pin down.
EDIT: Here's the tweet:
Sam Amico @SamAmicoFSO about 6 hours ago
NBA GM on Indiana G Victor Oladipo: "Great D. But lots of guys in this draft will average 8 or 9 points for their career. He'a one of them."
As for Shabazz, word just came out that he apparently had a really strong workout and interview with the Kings. He might still go Top 10 yet.

I really hope they don't bother. That money/roster spot could be put to so much better use than on a guy who's body clearly can't withstand the rigors of the NBA. I feel bad for the guy, but this is a business and he's not worth the investment anymore.

He is just their kind of player.

Its funny that people are just now finding out that Oladipo's ceiling is Tony Allen.
He gives you a great motor, potentially elite defense but little offense.

Not really, Sac usually passes on the BPA.
They passed on Knight/Walker for Jimmer
They passed on Lillard/Drummond/Barnes for Robinson
I expect them to take someone like Tyler Zeller when Shabazz or McCollum are still on the board.

Players develop. Okadipo has, every year...

If the Kings pick Shabazz they will officially become the greatest 24 hour fitness squad of all time.

Re: Draft prospects @ 10
I understand from Chad Ford's updated blog that Shabazz has worked out with
Phoenix, Philly and Sacramento and has workouts scheduled with Minnesota,
Portland and Utah. The scouts seem to like his competitive fire and are down
a bit on McLemore who refused a group workout with Oladipo and Shabazz.
MCW who has his detractors on this board might yet be the first PG taken ahead
of Burke who also refused to workout against MCW and McCollum. It appears
MCW will go either the Kings or Pistons. I'm thinking the Blazers might yet have
a choice between Zeller and McCollum with Shabazz a possibility if he has a
tremendous workout in front of Paul Allen. All in all, Portland's going to get a
decent player at 10 which is helpful.

No where did I say he cant develop, heck he needs to develop to become Tony Allen. I'm a fan of Oladipo.
The Westbrook comparison is a bit off being hes a PG with a skill set Oladipo doesnt have.

I'm starting to feel like the players projected to go top 10 are all going to be busts. The players in the late lotto and mid to late first round seem like the guys who will have long careers as decent borderline starters and serviceable back ups.
And by busts I mean tremendous disappointments.Just a gut feeling.

Westbrook was a SG at UCLA. He had farther to develop than Oladipo does.

Westbrook has always been a combo guard.
& Oladipo has never had the ball skills or speed Westbrook has so the comparison is silly.

People are getting too caught up in the fact that we need a defensive big and overlooking Zeller. Dieng, Adams or Gobert will do nothing to help us next year so we'd still have a void at center. I'd rather take Zeller who doesn't have the defensive potential but will be a solid rotational big.

I agree, Zeller has much more skill and is simply a better basketball player than the guys you listed. Potential is SO over-rated, I mean how many of picks drafted off potential ever pan out? It was to be less than 10%. Draft the most polished player who had basketball skills because players very rarely reach their "potential", especially in the NBA.

I just can't understand why else they did not waive him when trading for Maynor. Granted, they didn't really need Price, but why not waive the guy who can't play this year?

To me, Zeller is just not an NBA center. He might be a really good PF though. If the draft him for depth behind LMA, and spot minutes at center I'm good with that.
Then if Zeller really shines, its easier to consider trade offers for LMA. It would be really nice to get the Mavs #13 to get another wing though.
