Thanks Frank I always use this one:

I coach with this in mind....

A coach is someone who can give correction without causing resentment.

it is extremely accurate: and difficult to do at times, that is the difference between a good and bad coach. If you want players to buy what you are selling and be coachable, you have to do that:

It would be hard to get the number 2 pick in the draft unless you traded an outstanding player OR gave up a future unprotected....of ours! We wouldn't do that in a "strong" draft.

Player wise (as a Magic fan) there is no one really on your team that the #2 pick is worth that you would trade. The only player I could see tradng for would be Dragic.

So I think getting an unprotected 1st in the '14 draft, and some provision if the pick is above 11 or something the Magic also get a 2nd rd draft pick

We aren't trading an unprotected first next year, so I guess there would be no trade.

very easy to say such things under annonimity. If u turn out to be wrong, u won't be blamed. If u are right, u can always claim "I was that guy that said he wouldn't be all they were saying he would be..."

BS. Next!

It's true. Oladipo has good shot selection, and he was able to get easier shots in college against weaker competition, in the NBA it will be much harder for him to get good shots.

Use Oladipo like Marion, then. So he can't "score on his own."

Okay fine, have him slash to the basket, dunk, crash the offensive boards, etc.

He'll get his. If he doesn't, oh well, he'd still (hopefully) be a fantastic defender and every team needs a couple of those.

Yeah MKG comes to mind, but that 3 point stroke should translate to a solid 18-20 feet jumper and corner 3s, if Raja can do double figures for a few years then I'm sure Oladipo who is a far superior athlete could too.

You want an unprotected pick in a draft that is supposed to be one of the better drafts in recent history for a pick in a draft that is considered one of the worst in recent history? Move along...

Alex Len is moving up the big boards. He actually surpassed McLemore. Here's the reasoning on McLemore's decline.

Teams love McLemore's talent. His jump shot and elite athletic ability scream potential All-Star. But teams continue to wring their hands over whether McLemore has the drive to become a star. He was in Phoenix last week, but refused to work out against Oladipo and Muhammad. That's not an unusual ploy for a player ranked at the top, but given the parity at the top of the draft, it wasn't well received by the Suns, nor will it be from the other teams up high in the draft. "He needs to compete," one GM at the top of the draft said, "or it's only going to reinforce our biggest fears about him. There is no consensus in this draft. He's got to come and earn it." With that said, virtually every team at the top of the draft is still considering McLemore. The Magic, Bobcats and Suns look like the most plausible destinations.

http://insider.espn.go.com/nba/draft2013/story/_/id/9362805/2013-nba-draft-alex-len-moving-ranking-top-30-prospects

From the same article, here's their take on Len and how he may have a chance to go #1:

Len, who is on crutches due to a stress fracture in his left ankle, isn't able to work out either. But that hasn't stopped his rise on our Big Board. Increasingly, teams are looking to him as a potentially safer alternative to Noel. While he's likely to miss the next four to five months as he rehabs his ankle, teams feel like he's got better size, is more polished offensively and could have a bigger upside than Noel. As we've previously reported, he's seriously in the mix with the Cavs for the No. 1 pick, with some sources indicating the Cavs could be moving his direction (I'm told Noel, Porter and Oladipo are the others). The Bobcats are also very high on Len, as are the Suns and Pelicans.

With the rumor that the Suns are in fact planning to explore dealing Gortat, I would have to think the plans to get a later first round pick would be to aim at getting Zeller then.

I wouldnt mind a scenario in which we take Len @ #5, trade Gortat, Marcus Morris to Portland for #10 and use that on Bennett, take Archie Goodwin at #30 and then use #57 on Alexandre Parenhos.

We will have covered all our positions of need/upgrade, C, PF, SG, SF.

Dipo/Zeller would be a great takeaway from this draft. I'm pretty much over Gortat and if he can net us #10 plus filler, I'd do it.

See, I knew Mclemore was a mental midget. When I read he did not work against anyone, I was like wow! I'm glad other professionals are starting to see it that way. To not go out and kick someone's ass....?! Dude is soft! Glad about the Porter stuff!! Problem is we could end up with Mclemore. Cleveland Noel, Orl Oladipo, Wash Porter, Cha Len or Bennett. That leaves us to choose between Len/Bennett and Mac!

With that.........I'd still take a chance on that gutless wonder, because I don't like Len's I jury and I like Mac more than Bennett.
