It was a bit of a turnoff when I read that he wasn't competing last week. It made me really respect victor and shabazz more to hear about them going against each other.

They always do this though. The higher guy on draft boards doesn't usually compete, because it can only hurt them.

This is all the agent behind this though. Most of the players would love to play. Trey Burke wouldn't compete against the other pgs either.

It might hurt McLemore though, but in my opinion, that would be a good thing, because we might end up getting him. I seriously doubt he is not competing because he doesn't feel like it or is scared or anything. He's advised not to and TOLD it can't help him but COULD cost him.

Len, who is on crutches due to a stress fracture in his left ankle, isn't able to work out.

Yep I agree. Don't believe he would show up to a workout and not compete out of choice.

He broke his bone in purpose because he didn't want his stock to drop. Steer clear.

Shabazz has Kobe-esque work ethic.... in terms that he is using criticism of his game as motivation to improve them.

You say he doesnt pass enough... watch him make HUGE efforts in giving up the ball to the right guy.
You say he relies on jump shots too much... watch him take the ball hard to the rim and draw fouls.

If HE was lazy and had a bad attitude in terms of getting better... I'd be completely off him... but I just see him working hard every off season working on his weaknesses.

I think its simple .... we draft Len, then trade and get one of McCollum, S'Bazz, KWPope later. Whether or not that means theGORTAT will be up in the air.

we draft the Dipo or McChicken, then perhaps we try for Zeller or? , but not imperative.

Though I'd like to see GrownAssMan on this squad, I accept whatever rolls down the pipe at this point. Draft day is going to be entertaining to say the least.

So are you ok with the fact that he could just walk next season and we get nothing? Or that we attempt to sign and trade him, just to get pennies on the dollar? I just pray that McD isnt stupid enough to let this happen to us.....again.

It would be hard to get the number 2 pick in the draft unless you traded an outstanding player OR gave up a future unprotected....of ours! We wouldn't do that in a "strong" draft.

Player wise (as a Magic fan) there is no one really on your team that the #2 pick is worth that you would trade. The only player I could see tradng for would be Dragic.

So I think getting an unprotected 1st in the '14 draft, and some provision if the pick is above 11 or something the Magic also get a 2nd rd draft pick

We aren't trading an unprotected first next year, so I guess there would be no trade.

The most untouchable thing this team has is next year's unprotected first round pick

That was a nickname a few posters gave to Gortat. It didnt last too long though.

Though it should have. I haven't been a Gortat fan since he started talking. His game doesn't allow him to talk the way he sometimes does. I'm ready to pull the trigger.

I still call him TheGORTAT because of the comic strip from when he was in Orlando.

Dwight's in foul trouble again... "Release TheGORTAT!"

Glad some people get it, I'd be thrilled if he dropped all the way to #5 for us. Pretty obvious his agent doesn't want him doing anything that could hurt his draft stock as he is pretty much guaranteed to go top 5 barring some freak injury or getting embarrassed by a player like Shabazz.

Good post, bwgood77. Completely agreed, that`s a regular agent thing, you can`t fault player for that.

I would be delighted if McLemore drops to 5th slot.
