Strongly doubt even Washington does that.
When will we just change the name of 25 of the 30 teams to the Washington Generals?
Please advise….

I just figured that Gay might be a draw (Baltimore being his hometown), and it seems like they might want to take that next step to keep Wall happy, by bringing in another potential all-star. We unload the horrendous contract for two expirings that could fill spots on our roster (Okafor a big man mentor for JV, and Ariza SF off the bench). We draft Bennett to play and learn behind Amir, and get a gap starting SF in free agency (MWP, Barnes). Then next season, we go after the best SF prospect in the draft we can (Wiggins/Parker/Randle/Robinson III).
Trade Lowry for Jennings (S+T) + 2nd round pick
Trade Bargs for anything
Draft Kabongo
run with the following line-up this season:
Jennings - Kabongo
Derozan - Ross
Barnes - Ariza
Amir - Bennett
Okafor - JV
Let the kids play, we will definitely get a top 10 pick with that group.
Draft Randle.
Future starters:
Jennings
Derozan/Ross
Randle
Bennett
JV
Jennings -

Same targets i've been advocating for since the end of the season.
First order is to move bargnani, ideally it's for an expiring with less value than Bargs so we can get a 2nd round pick.
Charlie v + 37 or 56 / Ariza + Filler + #38 or #54 / Hawes + Royal Ivey + #42 / Humphries + future 2nd /
With that 2nd rounder i'd target Myck Kabongo
Then i'd go and try and get one of the bigs from Utah or Ryan Anderson
Fields + protected 2014(1-3) (15-30) / for Either Milsap or Al Jefferson Or Ryan Anderson. I doubt this lands al jefferson but the other two are real possibilities depending on how the summer plays out.
Use the MLE on either a back up pg or sf or C depending on the return from the Bargs trade...
So Out - Bargs, Fields, future pick
In - Paul Milsap or Ryan Anderson / Expiring / Myck Kabongo
Lowry / MLE / Myck Kabongo
Demar / Ross
Rudy / MLE
PM or RA / Amir / Acy
Val / Gray /
What I think would be more plausible would be if you turned those Bargnani deals into 3 team deals to land Millsap
Ex-
To TOR: Millsap
To UTA: Hawes + Allen + TOR Future 1st
To PHI: Bargnani
* works because Philly can't trade a 1st for a while.
Or
To TOR: Millsap
To UTA: Hump + TOR Future 1st
To BRK: Bargnani
* BRK over the tax apron can't do a S&T where they recieve the newly signed player. They can be team #3 however
I think either one of those deals are realistic and pass the eye/money test from all parties. That's a pretty good return for Utah whos looking to tank anyways.
If we turn bargs into a milsap and keep fields, then I guess we use the MLE on a pg & vet big.
Lowry / *Collison or Jose or Foye or Agustine / Myck Kabongo
Demar / Ross
Gay / Fields
Paul Milsap / Amir / Acy
Val / Sammy D / Gray
That's a pretty sick team.

Two bench players we need to focus on in the offseason are DeJuan Blair and Gary Neal. They've learned under Pop and are much more seasoned than anyone on our roster. Plus, Blair seems to have fallen out of the rotation.

Well if this turns out to be a gradual retrofit approach then Lowry is perfect to bundle with Bargs and Quincy Acy. Send to Detroit for Charlie Babcock V - one year deal, Rodney Stuckey - one year deal and Slava Kratsov 2 year deal. We trade Terrence Ross, 2015 lotto protected first rounder and cash to Dallas for their 13th pick and Rodrigue Beaubois. We subsequently agree with Detroit to flip 13 from Dallas and our 2014 second round pick to Detroit for their 2013 number 8. Now the Raps are in a position where a reasonable player falls or rises to number 8. Olapido? Zeller? Shabazz? Maybe Burke - all reasonable prospects.
Centre: JV, Kratsov, Gray
PF: Amir, Charlie V
SF: Gay, Shabazz if he rises into the lotto but if Zeller or Olapido fell there you might have to take one of them
SG: Demar, Landry (Stuckey)
PG: Stuckey, Beaubois, JLIII
If we could come away with Shabazz or Olapido or Zeller in 2013 and Saric in 2014 without flaming badly we will have done very well.

So basically you want us to trade our 2013 1st rounder (Lowry) to sweeten the pot to unload Bargs for expiring garbage, then you want us to trade our 8th pick from 2012 AND a future 1st to get the 13th pick in a weak draft and garbage, and then you think somehow a future 2nd will help us move up 5 slots in the draft? So we give up 3 1st rounders, cash and garbage to get a lower 1st round pick in a weaker year, garbage, and cap room to sign absolutely no one to a team devoid of assets and talent. Best-case scenario with that 8th pick (if Detroit loses their mind and makes that trade) is we get Oladipo who is TRoss with more defensive intensity. So to summarize again, we trade Ross and 2 1st rounders for a slightly better Ross and useless cap room. Brilliant, sign me up!

Bargs and Ross to Cha for Gordon and 4th (Bennett)
probably to good for the Raps, the other thing would be taking on TT for Kleiza to add value but then the Raps have TT........maybe TT instead of Gordon?

The Wizards wouldn't do that even if you took out the lottery pick. We would rather pick Porter on a rookie contract than blow a kings ransom on Gay.

Do the Raptors have any draft workouts? I hate BC for just trading picks like their worth next to nothing.

If you care to couch it that way be my guest. Yes I'm saying deal Lowry and parts for cap space, veteran depth at combo guard and a prospect. Detroit most certainly makes that deal if Lowry extends. Our 2012 8th was in reality a 14th so I'm suggesting a defacto 14th 2012 for the 2013 13th and PG depth in exchange for future pick. If it takes a future pick to do it simply put we need young assets. Perhaps it is a stretch to suggest moving 5 places with a second rounder but was making the argument Lowry is significant enough a piece for them to curry favour in the second deal. We lose Ross, Lowry, Bargs, and Acy and we gain, possibly, Olapido, Kratsov, Stuckey and Beaubois. Yes I think Dumars would do this. You cannot argue it is a bad deal for both sides at the same time it simply hurts your argument.

Except Reddick is a poor defender so is he greater than Demar/Ross? I think not. I think we keep Demar until we "grow" a replacement, maybe it is Ross but so far he doesn't get to the line... Also the MLE is too little for Reddick.

Re: Raps' Official 2013 Offseason Transaction Idea Thread, P
Based on that report a few days ago that Washington might trade the 3rd pick for Ilyasova, how about:
Washington in: Ilyasova, Mbah a Moute
Out: 3rd pick, Okafor
Milwaukee in: Lowry, Gay
Out: Ilyasova, Gooden, Mbah a Moute, 15th pick
Raptors in: Okafor, Gooden, 3rd pick, 15th pick
Out: Lowry, Gay
Maybe the Raptors throw in JL3 to Washington as a sweetener... just kidding. Maybe Milwaukee would throw a future 1st (2015?) Washington's way (or give Washington the 15th and give the Raptors a future 1st).
Washington might have no interest without a later pick coming back, but their starting lineup would be pretty solid for the foreseeable future with this deal. (Wall, Beal, Mbah a Moute/Webster(?), Ilyasova, Nene) They'd be competing for a playoff spot for years, and right away (which might not happen with a rookie -- I'm thinking of Porter -- coming in) and basically have a good, young core. They'd also add some depth in the draft with a later pick if Milwaukee gave one up. Maybe it'd be Shabazz Muhammad.
The Bucks would be better immediately, having solved the point guard problem (although maybe only for a year) and upgraded over Jennings, and upgraded over Ilyasova with Gay. I think they could sell their fan-base on it pretty easily. They'd be able to climb up a spot or two (or three) in the standings and have a shot at winning a series. Besides that, they'd be dumping Gooden, which would offset Gay's enormous salary.
The Raptors would be (a) getting major cap relief after Okafor's $14 million comes off the books next summer; (b) getting a high draft pick, which could be used for Burke (who could be a better player than Lowry within his rookie contract and would be sure to stick around for more than one season and at under half the price) or to get some other player (Noel or McLemore if either dropped, or Oladipo, who would make either Derozan or Ross immediately expendable), in which case they'd have to settle with a stop-gap PG and JL3 for the season; (c) getting a 15th pick (Shabazz/Olynik/Shroeder if they don't pick Burke) or a future pick (a nice boost in a couple of years); and (d) in a prime tanking/developing/growing/building position with a fairly crappy team that could go south very readily with the right mix of injuries and developmental decisions.
Burke/JL3
Derozan/Ross
Fields/Kleiza
Amir/Acy/Gooden/El Bargo (hopefully he has another famous streak of 13 and they trade him for the goods)
Val/Okafor/Gray
That's a team that can tank with the best of 'em. It would basically be like the Raptors traded Ed Davis and the 12th pick for the 3rd pick, the 15th pick, and Gooden's crappy contract (we'll forget about 2nd rounders), undoing some of B.C.'s job-saver moves, and arguably having a net positive effect.
In the 2014 offseason, they'd undoubtedly be getting a top 6 pick -- top 3 with a little bit of elbow-grease or luck (I'd put them in the range of bottom-feeders Phoenix, New Orleans, Orlando, and Charlotte); they'd have about $55 million on the books, unless they trade Bargo -- which I think they should use the season to do while they support the tank -- or amnesty him.
In 2014, they'd have:
Burke going into his second year;
Derozan (if no trade materializes);
an improved Ross;
an improved Acy;
Amir ready to play his ass off in a contract year (which could be interesting);
an improved Valanciunas;
probably some sort of stud from the 2014 draft (this is looking like a pretty bad-ass core in my opinion, especially if Wiggins or Parker is the mystery pick);
and one year left for Fields, Gooden, and Bargnani to push for the playoffs, stink it up for draft-purposes (doubtful), or showcase for trades (that's over $27 million in expiring contracts to trade as the deadline approaches)...
... not to mention Milwaukee's other pick, whether it's this year's 15th (backup small forward/centre of the future?) or something to look forward to in another draft.
Another route they could take is in drafting Porter with the 3rd, which would be a pretty safe pick, since the Raps would almost certainly be able to grab a point guard in the following year's draft if they don't get a top 2 pick, and he'd fit in fine with Wiggins or Parker if they did. A case could be made for Noel, McLemore, and Oladipo, too, given that they'd all be upgrades over current Raptors and the Raps wouldn't have much urgency in trading whomever the pick would be supplanting, whether it's Derozan/Ross (in the case of Oladipo and McLemore) or Amir (in the case of Noel), unless they just used him as the 3rd big.
Washington in: Ilyasova, Mbah a Moute

Milwaukee in: Lowry, Gay
Out: Ilyasova, Gooden, Mbah a Moute, 15th pick
Raptors in: Okafor, Gooden, 3rd pick, 15th pick

A case could be made for Noel, McLemore, and Oladipo, too, given that they'd all be upgrades over current Raptors and the Raps wouldn't have much urgency in trading whomever the pick would be supplanting, whether it's Derozan/Ross (in the case of Oladipo and McLemore) or Amir (in the case of Noel), unless they just used him as the 3rd big.

The Wizards would never do that.
