Rebranding the Toronto Raptors (Updated designs on p. 7)

As for the jerseys...I gave it a lot of thought and spent a while playing around with re-designs, but ultimately, I like how they are now. The only changes I would make to them are to add Raptor claw marks on the shoulders, a CN Tower silhouette down the side of the shorts, and ditch the chevrons on the sides of the shirt. Besides that, the colour schemes of all the current jerseys and their design are perfectly fine.

Ooo hoo hoooo... I love the claw marks over the shoulders. And the entire Maple Leaf design in general. I'm an American, but hell, sport some Canadian pride if you're the nations only basketball team.

That logo looks a little too much like this one:

I respectfully disagree. They do look similar in that they both have a maple leaf with the name of the team under it, but that is where the similarity ends imo. I do see it, but I don't think It's too similar. If that is the case, than all logos with a large maple Leaf will look too similar to the Toronto Maple Leafs. Taking in consideration what the MLSE acronym stands for, I don't think the organization would have a problem with all their teams closely resembling their corporate brand.

It's probably one of the worst logo's created on this forum. It has absolutely lost the feel of a raptors leaning towards more on an alien theme. The skyline is NOT a good idea, it look's terrible. There is nothing good about this logo, the eyes, the teeth, the skyline, etc. I'm not insulting you or any of the posters but it's an NBA team, a professional sports organization and you would want to put that logo on the court/jersey?! I know people probably egg you on and tell you it's a great design because they think it's the nice thing to do, but what they are really doing is setting you up for failure. I am not jealous, more frustrated that people are willing to praise and accept mediocre logo's.. Don't you guys have any pride? This is my team and to see people like you butcher the hell out of the original logo is of course frustrating. Constructive criticism? Trash this logo and stop being blinded by the people who are praising you for your skyline in the teeth, etc. Your logo is a disgrace to the Raptor franchise (that's how bad it is). If you spent a lot of money going to 'art school', well stop right now if you think art may be a career for you. If it's on your spare time, then at least admit it's a terrible, ugly logo. I'm not hating or insulting you, I'm helping you out because people like Hank will always tell you how great your logo is when if fact, if we had a poll I would guarantee it would finish near the bottom. If you really want to update your logo, start from scratch.

You fail to acknowledge one important detail and that's the fact I don't care wether or not my rebrand actually has a chance of being picked up by MLSE (I know its not), its the fact that I did this for fun and to open people's eyes to a Raptors redesign. People like you can hurl insults at my design and I won't care. Trust me, you're not the only one who had issues with the design so I don't know why you think you are in the minority. Almost a majority of the posters disliked the face but raved about the skyline. At the end of the day if you still prefer the old over the new then that's a stance I respect.

And it's funny to read your critique. You gave absolutely no suggestions on what to improve design wise. Not a single one. You just rip and rip and rip. Hell, I can understand if you hate it 100% but holy **** are you getting your panties in a bunch. I'm not telling you to marry it? You don't even suggest or propose a single idea. Well done troll.

The fact that you are swearing shows that you are emotionally tied to your design and your actually getting your panties in a bunch. Am I going out of my way to insult you and your 'art school' education? No I'm telling you a fact. I'm a hardcore Raptors fan and it's absolutely disgusting what you did with the Raptor logo. But wait do I rip on Los manos huskies design? No because that was actually a good design, where as your raptor logo is something I expect from 13 year olds. This is a professional sport franchise for Christ sakes not a gaming clan. Also you are so big on constructive criticism. Perhaps because people outside of Ontario have National pride and the Maple Leaf is as Canadian as it gets...

People that live outside Ontario support the raptors because it is Canada's team not because of the raptors long history of winning.

Fantastic. I think the shorts could be tweeted but love the logo. CN tower and Raptor Claw marks are by far my favourite ideas for a redesigned raptor logo.

It keeps the claw logo, incorporates the leaf to have a Canadian flavour, has the CN tower for Toronto and I love the est. 1995.

I'm wondering how it would look if you inversed teh red with the black everywhere? Red leaf, black tower and then the rest.

This could be the re-brand while still keeping the Raptors name.

Here are a couple Logo ideas I put together that would allow the team to make the "Raptor" look however they want, and infuse a Canadian element to it, while keeping the popular claw as the 2nd logo.

Here it is in 3-D...'cause we know how much MLSE loves putting that on the floor lol.

Oh...and the jersey's can stay the same, or they can use the font in the logo instead.

Well then it's disgusting you would actually consider yourself a graphics designer because that is an insult to people who are actually graphic designers. Who am I to say? Not only me, but you even agreed a lot of people think your work is horrible. Stop kidding yourself, you are not improving. You do not have creativity (the skyline is a stupid idea for the teeth, really?) or an eye for aesthetics, that is something you have or you don't.
