Re: Let's Trade #8 pick to Denver
Stuckey isnt nearly as bad as some fans act like, I think it is based on a lot of ridiculous expectations when he came here that he was the next Chauncey. I never thought he was gonna more than a 7th or 8th man off the bench so i've honestly never been that surprised by him.
Hes wildly inconsistent, when he shows up hes pretty darn good but thats rare.

You guys must really think Stuckey sucks...
Nope he is great, forget the fact that a bad team is even worse with him on the court, not to mention his inefficient scorer, but ya like I was saying Stuckey is great and well worth $8 million a year.
come on mod stop baiting.
You are right though, there's a reason we call him Rodney Suckey. Just ignore Jodi, you just got to get used to him, he legitimately believes in what he says, even though he may be wrong. Stuckey has all the ability to be worth more than 8 mil. but not the mental aspect to do it or consistency. Iggy>>>>>>>>>>>>>Stuckey

Re: Let's Trade #8 pick to Denver
Sure Stuckey can do some of the thing AI does. But I can also say jamal crawford can do some of the things kobe does, does not mean JC can replace kobe and expect similiar results.
Same story with AI versus stuckey. Yea, stuckey has some skills, all NBA players do, but he will not even come close to iggy's impact on the court...
Replacing AI with stuckey will impact the defense significantly, in a negative way.
Offensively stuckey is less efficient from the field and is somehow worse at shooting 3 pointers.
Stuckey can get to the basket, but AI explodes to the hoop. What you're proposing is for Denver to be downgrading in size, athleticism, and speed on the wings, while becoming more deficient on defense, with little to no increased value on offense. One could argue stuckey makes them worse offensively as well, but I wan to be fair and say its more of a wash.
Face it, Stuckey is a tweener with no true position, whereas AI is a legit SF that can slide to the SG.

That's the second time this has happened. If you think we're all the same then why bother discussing?
that time i quoted the right piston fan...jodi said "Stuckey can replace Iggy"
that was what i was replying to.

Stuckey can play pg or sg
Iggy can play either SG or SF
What stuckey cannot replace is sheer athleticism, speed, and size iggy brings to the table at the wing spots.
I view Stuckey as a solid player off the bench because he has neither SG or PG skillsets, but kind of a mish mash of both.
Iggy on the other hand, is a prototypical SF in the NBA, and can slide to the SG if he has a shooter (gallinari) next to him on the wing to cover for his lack of a consistent jumper.
The way I see it, I would NOT want stuckey playing big minutes on my team, but wouldnt mind at all if Iggy was. There are reasons for that and why no one wants Stuckey even though he is an expiring and decent player.
I look at it like this bro...Iggy will probably sign with a team like the Mavs or Hawks..I dont think you guys would take a step back if you guys traded for Stuckey....Lawson/Stuckey/Gallinari/Faried/Mcgee seems like a good line-up after Iggy signs elsewhere...
wont take a step back if we got stuckey instead of iggy?
yes, you do overrate your players. take that quote to 28 other team boards (not detroit and denver) and see the replies you would get.

My goodness bro, I'm not overrating Stuckey...If Chandler continues to come off the bench when Iggy leaves a Lawson/Stuckey back-court would be better compared to a Lawson/Fournier back-court...

Well that's one reason I like this site, I get to see different opinions...We all have something in common though, we're all Piston fans...Ever since I've been here I think a couple posters can agree I've made some comments that nobody agrees with...I honestly believe in the posts I make...

DetroitDon15 wrote: McCollum, Oladipo, Burke, and Muhammed are all guys who could be available for us that I could see as starters on a playoff team.
I see you're a man that loves to dream at draft time! Historically, guys drafted in that range end up as lower level rotation players. Some do better off course, and some are total busts, but the expectation is a 7th-8th man, and that's four years in to a player's career. Here's the recent history of the #8 pick: T Ross, BK, A-F Aminu, Jordan Hill, Joe Alexander, Brandan Wright, Rudy Gay, Ch Frye, R Araujo, TJ Ford, C Wilcox, D Diop, Jamal Crawford. Three of those guys stated for playoff teams--Gay, Ford, Frye-- but only one was a good starter (Gay).
If things work out well for McCollum and very well for Shabazz, both could be starters, but neither is expected to be right now, and not on a playoff team. Just not a good expectation for either right now, IMO.

Thank you, I argue this point every year with people around the draft, fact is you have a 50% chance at a starter or quality rotation player in the lotto as a whole, the later you go into the lotto the worse your chances of getting that player gets. This is not the NFL where your top 10 are expected to be starters and difference makers immediately, and anybody drafted in the 1st round is expected to be a quality starter, in the NBA only the top 1-3 (depending on year) are expected to be quality starters out of the gate, top 5-6 are expected to be quality starters within a year or two, after that you are looking for rotation guys with more development needed throughout the rest of the 1st round. For every guy like Drummond you have plenty of guys out there that are busts.

if this draft shakes out the way its starting to look with Noel, Len and either Burke or MCW going top 7, we'll be left with one of Dip/Porter/Mac/Zeller/Bennett. id rather take a shot at any of those guys than use the pick to acquire Chandler and his dodgy hip.

Re: Let's Trade #8 pick to Denver
Listing the last 13 #8 picks does not tell you anything.
Historically, the chance of a pick in the 6-10 range being an all-star is around 20%.
http://thesportsquotient.com/nba/2013/0 ... gends-lie/
Low Risk. High Reward. I'll take my chances.
Hopefully one benefit of Iggy (who was drafted at #9) opting out (something I have said was likely for a long time) is that we can end the Nuggets-need-to-trade-Chandler threads. Unless, of course, they want to trade him for Stuckey (sorry, Jodi).

I think you guys are confused. Chandler won't come in and have a Harden type impact. I think you all need to get away from that.
