David Lee for Humphries?
http://www.grantland.com/story/_/id/936 ... e-warriors
This article is being discussed on a few boards. One of the potential trades listed is sending David Lee to Brooklyn in exchange for Humphries. I haven't watched the Warriors but Lee is an All-Star with good stats, though I've heard he's a padder.
What would you think about it?

Lee isn't a stat padder, he's a very good player, but he's an atrocious defender.

Offensively we could do some good things with Lee but we would be so bad defensively.

If the deal is there, I'd do it. Lopez needs to stop acting like a bitch and start defending and rebounding

Re: David Lee for Humphries?
this is an absolute no brainer of a move. of course you make this deal. an expiring contract for an all-star?
is his defense bad? sure, but so is the defense of every big on this team. and if you are really worried about it, you can do something like trade brook lopez for a defensive minded big, or even wait and flip lee later on. LMA for lopez deal becomes more of an option now also
Dwill - JJ - Wallace - Lee - LMA
also, lee's defense might suck, but he is an excellent defensive rebounder and a guy you cant leave on the offensive end. that would be an enormous upgrade to reggie evans and allow us to keep blatche at C

I'm down for this, but I worry about LMA's health issues.
I'd flip Lopez immediately if we were to acquire Lee in a salary dump.

Re: David Lee for Humphries?
Yes I would take Lee if given the chance. Massive upgrade over both Hump and Evans, and Evans/Blatche would be able to come off the bench again, and maybe even continue to give Mirza a few minutes in games instead of Evans.
Bottom line I would feel more comfortable with Lee over all options at PF now. He would be up there on targeted PFs that I think we have a realistic shot at.... Lee, Randolph, and Boozer.
The other PFs I would take that I don't think we have a shot at (and would require moving Brook too) but would like to see on this team are Bosh, Aldridge, and Love.

Re: David Lee for Humphries?
And better yet if we could do this trade straight up, that would save us our pick and Marshon as assets.
Then we just need to get an athletic wing... I don't think we need to go into the season with another PG. I really want to see TT get that job and see how Kidd helps him develop. I think he has potential, like Bledsoe potential. If we need another PG vet during the season just give Farmar a call, lol.

id rather move brooks and bring in a SG that is capable of giving us 20 minutes off the bench. and i just dont see taylor ever being an NBA player, let alone one that can play next season.
looks like kidd and king have already discussed a PG replacement, so luckily, we likely wont have to worry about that

Re: David Lee for Humphries?
It doesn't make any sense. Who cares if hes a good player?
Thats like saying its a good idea to put Chris Paul on this team. He literally does the exact same things Lopez does, except hes a better rebounder.
There wouldn't be enough shots to go around and our defense would suffer. Yes, I would rather have Reggie Evan's defense than Lee's, thats how bad it is.

that is just horrible thinking. its one thing to say you are going to draft player A over player B because player A is a better fit and talent is similar.
its another thing to say you wont trade garbage for an all-star PF entering his prime.
so you wouldnt take chris paul for humps expiring, cause we have dwill? dude listen to what you are saying. you dont want a top 5 NBA player cause we have a PG already.
when you can get a guy 10X better then what you are trading you do it and figure it out later. not enough shots? thats not really an issue with 4 all-stars. you make it work. make him a super 6th man and now your bench has lethal scoring with lee on it.
or, you flip lee, or move lopez. eihter way you are maximizing your talent by doing it.
turning it down is a billy king move.

SCREW FIT!!!!! '
Are you kidding me?????
You can steal a player that good for a pile of poop? That is a deal you HAVE TO make. Its a no brainer!!!! You tweak fit. The best thing we have going for us as a franchise is an owner that doesnt care about the cap. But the cap does exist and we are way over it. We arent a minor support player away...we are MILES AWAY. HBAP is really our last major move for the next few years.
The hail mary insane upgrade in talent is the BEST case scenario for this franchise. You make that deal and you figure out the problems later.
That's a MERRY F-ING XMAS to US trade!

Yeah, it's definitely a deal we'd have to make...but man oh man, if you thought our interior & PnR defense was bad last year, just wait until Lee and Lopez are together lol.

I'm sorry, Evans is an atrocious defender.
Lee would be a MASSIVE upgrade. I wouldn't think twice about it

I agree that he would be a massive upgrade offensively, but there's no way that you can possibly believe that Lee is a WAY better defender than Evans. They're both very bad.
I assume that you're just taking the 'no one can be worse than Evans' belief without actually looking at the other side.
GSW fans call him the Golden Gate for a reason. The advanced metrics show him as the worst interior defender in the league.

Don't care about his defense issues when we can get him for Hump (even though just speculation). We can coach him and have him adjust to a new system.

Yea, he's a pretty underrated passer and I feel that part of his game is overlooked a lot. He would improve our offense tremendously.NyCeEvO wrote:Despite his defense, I really like his passing:

What a bout a Terry & Bass deal for Humphires?
Fill out the bench better instead of Hump?
