Our best bet would be Trob/Lin/White for Pierce.

Get Trob for free essentially, put White in the Dleague and then decline his next option. Raise Lins value whilst Rondo is out and then try and shift him by the deadline.

Yeah Houston could get a very solid pick for Asik. They won't need to settle for just buying out Pierce. Lin and T-Rob will be pure cap relief moves.

No one will take Lin for pure cap space, or White, and they need to move Trob for two max FAs. So after they move Asik they may be tempted to drop Lin/Trob/White for capspace withut giving up any assets. They buyout option would save them approx $9m.

If these things are true, which BTW I highly doubt, then he should be crucified. My humble opinion, Danny and Doc have been planning this for awhile. CP3, D12, KG, PP, etc. The one single thing that set it all in motion though; the Clippers 1st round exit.

That and our own first round exit so that people could let go of championship delusions with this core.

I'd rather take a shot with this core and have KG and Pierce retire Celtics than trade them for Eric Bledsoe and DeAndre **** Jordan.

How tits would it be if KG retired after the trade and Dwight deal fell through.

Doc then coaches a clips team that ends up with same record as Boston. Hey a man can dream.

Lin's overpaid, so I don't think TRob & White are enough. White's a very shaky prospect. Perhaps make them add Terrance Jones too.

I agree. That's a huge piece of information. I hope it ends up being Bledsoe/Jordan/one 1st rounder.

I agree, but Lins deal will be a big expiring soon enough anyway.

If we want to rebuild quickly we need to grab talent somehow and getting a previous high lotto pick and a guy with lotto potential (and issues) for taking on Lin is not awful. Especially if we were going to buy out Pierce anyway.

EDIT: If we do the LAC deal and get Bledsoe (which we better) we can always route him to a third team for a pick. (Utah for 14 + another asset, or we can add a little value for the Pelicans pick - maybe Bledsoe + 25 for 6).

Rondo - Lin.
Bradley - Lee - Terry - Crawford.
Green - White.
Sullinger - Robinson - Bass.
Jordan - Melo.
+ Picks.
Move Terry and Bass and the contract situation is not too bad.

The Celtics have been known for taking flyers on players that other teams don't want. However, having been through the Vin Baker fiasco (and its more than difficult resolution), I can't see the Celtics touching Royce White with a 10-foot pole.

You are 100% right. This isn't a good trade. It's a GREAT trade.

Please explain to me how getting an offensively-challenged center and a player who is basically an Avery Bradley clone in return for two Hall-of-Famers (saying "two" because Pierce will likely go afterward, too) is a "great" trade?

Hey, as long as we don't get Blake Griffin.

White's deal isn't guaranteed after 2013-14.. If Boston takes White and Lin off Houston's hands, then they should get more than Thomas Robinson, who doesn't fit in their long-term plans anyways... Give Boston some picks or Terrance Jones..

Adrian Wojnarowski ‏@WojYahooNBA 1m
Within Celtics, this process has never grown acrimonious between management and Doc Rivers. At $7M per season, he remains the coach.

To me, this kind of kills the "Doc told LAC not to include Bledsoe" rumor that's floating around. If that were true, there is no way this wouldn't have gotten acrimonious.

Bledsoe's game is nothing like Bradley's. Lazy comparison imo.

Yeah, that'd still be an pretty interesting trade, and you're right, they could definitely get better return for Asik. He's a quality center. They're hard to come by. How much salary does Houston need to drop to be able to offer two max contracts?

It would be pretty masterful to be able to pull off both of these trades. Talk about jump starting a rebuild. Highly unlikely, but it's fun to dream.

Bledsoe can be a top 10 pg and has trade value, which can speed up the rebuilding process..
