Re: Trade Idea Thread II
Hey fellas...I'm looking to start a new season in 2k13 with Philly, and I'm trying to get a realistic plan. I made one but was shot down on the TB. Starting over, I'm looking to get Bledsoe (as I'm looking to trade Jrue separately) and I'm not sure what it would take. Outside of Jrue (who I'm looking to get a package consisting of Waiters with) what would it take? Would you guys approve of a deal centered around their 11th pick or Evan Turner or a package of both for a little more return?

lol I always try to make realistic trades...I usually post the trades I wanna make on the trade board to get opinions from the fanbase. It makes it more fun imo.

Re: Trade Idea Thread II
I posted this on the trade board, wanted to get your opinions on this.
Here is a realistic option that I can see playing out.
Step 1.)
Lakers trade Dwight Howard to the Clippers for Blake Griffin, Willie Green, and a future protected first round pick.
Why for the Lakers: Howard wants out and can easily go to Houston leaving LAL with nothing. I think the Lakers eventually take this offer and I can see him teaming up well with Nash and Gasol next year until Kobe comes back.
Why for the Clippers: Get Dwight Howard and please CP3. I think they eventually (reluctantly) decide to let Blake go for Howard.
Step 2.)
Celtics trade Kevin Garnett to the Clippers for DeAndre Jordan and Eric Bledsoe.
The Celtics get to rebuild with 2 qualities pieces while the Clippers are in win-now mode.
Step 3.)
Celtics buy-out Paul Pierce and he comes to the Clippers to re-join KG.
Step 4.)
Doc Rivers follows KG and Pierce to LA.
Clippers Team:
C: Howard
PF: KG
SF: Pierce, Butler
SG: Crawford
PG: CP3
Coach Doc Rivers
Thoughts? How far do you think this team can advance next year?

Sick team, I don't like Crawford at the two though. I rather get a no name 3 and D type player, keep him as a super 6th man. I could see that team winning it all if they click and most importantly don't have any major injuries. That team is relying on some old dudes so I'm worried how their bodies will hold up.ispitmoney1 wrote:

We cant even consider trading Blake for Howard. Blake is the reason why players wanted to come here. Blake and Chris should be the only untouchable players on this team.

Re: Trade Idea Thread II
Sources say the Clippers want to keep open the option that they could package Bledsoe with Griffin in a sign-and-trade offer for Howard after the Lakers' center becomes a free agent on July 1. ESPN The Magazine's Chris Broussard reported Friday that Howard and Clippers star Chris Paul have been in consistent contact in recent weeks in hopes of landing on the same team via free agency.

Actually, Wojnarowski just shut that down saying the lakers "will never do it according to a source. I trust woj's "sources" over marc stein's "sources" any day lol

Blake was the reason Chris Paul came here. Who did he come here to play with? If he wants to get Howard here I'm sure its to play with him and Griffin.

Re: Trade Idea Thread II
Celtics fan here.
If the proposed Celtics/Clippers trade was to transpire & was in a way forced upon management by CP3, i.e. KG (& Doc) for Jordan/Bledsoe/'14 1st Rd, Pierce bought out, signs with Clippers, etc. & he was really adamant he would rather play with Dwight than Blake Griffin - do you think the following is feasible?
From all reports it appears highly unlikely the Lakers/Clippers do business, what about trading Blake to the Cavs for the #1? You would need someone to absorb Crawford (Memphis for TPE?) as his salary is almost the #1 cap hold (around $800K above the cap hold). You would have approx. $25m on the books & around $34m to sign both Paul & Howard to deals starting at $16m. Re-sign Lamar & Chauncey using their Bird Rights to a 2yr deal (is each worth $4m a season still for a 2yr deal?). Use the MLE to bring Pierce in. Use the Vet. Min. deals to bring back Barnes & Hollins (or Turiaf) & you roll with the following;
Chirs Paul/Caron Butler/Paul Pierce/Kevin Garnett/Dwight Howard
Chauncey Billups/Ben McLemore (or whoever your FO likes)/Matt Barnes/Lamar Odom/Ryan Hollins (or Turiaf)
Have Willie Green & DaJuan Summers for depth.
Coach - Doc Rivers.
Pardon the pun, but that is how the West is won. It also leaves the Lakers a rabble - losing Dwight for diddly squat, makes both our teams happy. If Cleveland didn't want to deal, the Magic #2 may also be up for grabs for Blake (eg. Blake/Butler for Afflalo/#2 or just Blake for #2) & McLemore (or whoever your FO likes) would possibly still be available with that pick. Actually I think I like the Blake/Butler for Afflalo/#2 more than Cavs #1. But, whatever, the point remains the same.
I'm pretty confident this all works with the cap too, no luxury tax, under the apron & hard capped at $74m or so.
Just an idea. And as a sidenote I do hope you guys keep CP3 - I have huge respect for his game & would love to see him stay at the Clippers, just feel he may use his power to get what he wants or walk from your team.

This is hardly even fair, the rest of the league is playing checkers and Danny Ainge is playing 12-dimensional chess.

Re: Trade Idea Thread II
i think a Cavs/Clips deal makes sense.
CLE: Blake + Butler
LAC: #1 + TPE
saves LAC $17M, putting them $30M under the cap. they'd need to move another $6M to be able to offer Howard and Paul deals starting at $18M a piece. between the #1 and Bledsoe they should carry enough value to help unload Jordan's contract, or Crawford's contract.

to help clear room to sign Dwight outright, and to get back a nice asset at the same time.
instead of doing a Griffin + Bledsoe for Howard deal (which LAL say they won't do anyway), you do a Griffin + Butler deal, sign Howard outright, keep Bledsoe for another deal, and come away with the #1 pick on top of that.

Where do you guys get this strange notion that we want to get rid of Blake? Dude, even if we do want Dwight we won't do it at the expense of Blake. The rumors come from outside LA because it seriously doesn't come from our organization. "Sources" Broussard and many others have said that it is "possible" to do so not saying that we are actually looking into it!!
Even if CP wanted to play with Dwight, the new CBA will screw them over and they'll probably just stay pat in the teams their in. To us fans, Blake is very valuable and, some would argue, even more valuable than CP.
Tbh If CP manages to get with Dwight it won't be with us and it will be with a team that's been stripped bare bones. So please no more of this Blake going somewhere else crap it's just getting annoying as hell -__-
