Re: LAL/LAC - Howard for Griffin
Lakers fans are delusional... because their GM gives them reason to be! Listen what they expect us irrational and yet somehow Kupchak gets it done. Clips would be well served if they can just get rid of Jordan in a Howard deal. Griffin/Jordan for Howard S&T and MWP maybe? Does that money work?

Nope. We'd rather take nothing than help the other LA team compete for a title. If you think Lakers has absolutely NO leverage then what do you call the Clippers? The only way they can get Dwight is if the LAKERS say yes. So we demand Griffin/Bledsoe or we will both see Dwight and Paul team up and go to HOU/ATL.
The problem is the Clippers don't need to trade for Dwight. They'll be just fine the way they're built.
You're also crazy if you think CP3 is leaving the Clips. Every article written states that he's still likely to stay in LA. It's amazing how delusional Lakers fans are.
As a franchise you have to do what's best for your own team and not worry about what other teams are doing. The Lakers would take Griffin in a heartbeat rather than let Howard leave with no return. The Clipper doing this trade makes them marginally better, but the Lakers getting Griffin as opposed to getting nothing makes then much better.

So in order for Dwight and Paul to play for the Clippers, LAKERS need to agree for a sign and trade. So LAKERS do have all the leverage, right? Right? Again, we won't trade Dwight for Griffin and watch Clippers contend for the title year in and year out. We rather let Howard walk. So if we demand Griffin/Bledsoe or whoever we want, it is either Clippers accept it or we both watch Dwight and Paul play for HOU/ATL or any other teams that can sign them.
Lakers will be fine. We have our "2014 offseason plan". How about the Clippers? Do you think Griffin can take them to the promise land?
The Clippers could offer Jordan, Bledsoe, Butler, 2013 1st and 2015 1st to the Lakers for Howard and Blake. If the Lakers turn it down so what? No need to overpay the Lakers who aren't dealing from a position of strength, Paul is more likely to stay in LA than Howard. Clippers will still be the better team next year if both Howard and Paul leave LA.

- Then we stay pat and execute our 2014 plan.
- Clippers w/o CP3 will be better than Lakers without Howard?

Who are the Lakers going to get in 2014 that is so much absolutely better than a certainty of getting Griffin? It's not Lebron, because even assuming that Lebron comes to LA, you can easily have Lebron and Griffin play together. So, who is it? Wade? Bosh? Gasol?
But do you know what they call a fool, who's full of himself and jumps into the path of death because it's cool?

If the lakers with Howard are worse than the clippers with Paul, how is it unreasonable that if both leave the clippers are still better
“If you're getting stops and you're making threes and the other team's not scoring, that's when you're going to see a huge point difference there,” coach Billy Donovan said.

I don't understand why you keep calling the Lakers fans delusional.
Have you noticed that it's been REPORTED that the Clippers' offer was Griffin and Bledsoe? And that the Lakers turned it down?
The Clippers even went away from the Celtics' deal because they wanted to use Bledsoe to convince the Lakers of trading Howard.

Yeah except this is real life, and not some make believe NBA dream where teams and businesses are content with being better then their rivals for a year or two. The Clippers have been a complete garbage franchise in comparison to LAL and the reason theyre finally relevant and have a chance to uptake the best team in LA is because of Chris Paul, so you best believe if Paul demands howard or he's out the Clippers will bend over backwards to make sure he doesnt leave and they fade into mediocrity with the bledsoe griffin combo for the next few years. While in the mean time LAL will become the top spot to land as a FA. If the Lakers want the Griffin/Bledsoe/Crawford combo they could 100% get it. The path they'll end up choosing is uncertain. But the cap space plan seems a lot safer.

Not sure why all the discussion here when LAL made it known that D12 will not be traded to the Clips. Blake and Bledsoe are definitely athletic players that would fill a void but as others have noted above, the defense that was already an issue would get appreciably worse. In addition, LAL needs outside shooting. Where does that come from in this deal?

If the Paul/Griffin rumors are true, then if the Lakers don't make this deal he walks and they get nothing. I'd rather have Griffin.
