Could we possibly trade for Demarcus Cousins?

Post#1 » by Verballer » Sun Jun 16, 2013 7:13 pm

I mean think about it.We trade them Butlers expiring,Bledsoe and Jordan+pick for Cousins and I dunno Isiah Thomas
It's clear that the Kings dont want him as a franchise player and with new management that feel he is too big a trouble maker and also they get a young energetic starting caliber point guard in Bledsoe
Here in Clipperland we might get Shaw who is a known player developer. And think of a Blake-Cousins line up :o :o :o
Could be overrating our players/underrating theirs but it sounds pretty good to me

If it's true that your team is considering Bledsoe/Deandre/1st for KG & Doc, then yes I think you'd be MUCH better off going after DMC. I think Bledsoe/Deandre/1st gets you Cousins & Thomas, & probably Salmons to make the salaries a bit closer. Doesn't solve your defensive problems inside but you'd have an even more deadly offensive team than last season. Who knows though, I don't know if Sac feels as strongly about Bledsoe's future as Bostom seems to.

And did I mention if we had Brian Shaw as a coach he is also known as a defence first coach ;)
Does DMC have a mid range game?
One good enough for the pick and pop people say Paul is SOOOO good at (I only recently started watching and never got to see his pick and pop game with West :( )

It's obvious that the kings are trying to change their franchise and I read that the new FO view Cousins as the face of the "previous era" if we were to trade and get him for 3 new players, one an expiring contract the other a starting point guard worthy of a spot in the franchise (Bledsoe would definitely start even if Isiah was there) and a replacement center which I don't know why they would want but anyway still a good rim protector

Where on earth do you get your news??! Wherever you read it, it is a complete 180 from reality.

Mike Malone and Vivek Ranadivé are committed to DeMarcus Cousins

The transformation of the Sacramento Kings has officially begun. Earlier today, new majority owner Vivek Ranadivé introduced Mike Malone to the capital city as the franchise’s 25th coach in franchise history.

Change has clearly arrived in a major way to the Kings. But one thing that isn’t going to change under the new regime is the franchise’s commitment to DeMarcus Cousins.

“I’m gonna go with him with open arms and accept him,” the new Kings coach said of the 22-year-old center. “Because we all know on any given night, he’s the most talented big man in the NBA and there’s not many guys out there (like that).

“You just don’t get rid of those guys.”

“He could be, he should be the cornerstone of this franchise for years to come,” said Malone, whose 12 years of assistant coaching experience includes stops in New York, Cleveland and Golden State. ”That’s my hope. But obviously, once when we sit down and speak and we get a better feel for who he is and who I am, we’ll see where that relationship goes. But I’m very much looking forward to meeting with him.”

Like Malone, Ranadivé understands Cousins’ value to this franchise. After the sale of the team was officially completed, Ranadivé says the first call he made was to the Kings young big man. In that conversation, he shared some of his vision with Cousins.

“I said my friend (Apple founder) Steve Jobs liked to say ‘let’s put a dent in the universe’ and DeMarcus, ‘let’s do something big’,” Ranadivé said at today’s afternoon press conference. ”He said, ‘I liked the sound of that’.”
