Leonard and Knight were my guys for that draft. I'm not sure why Leonard fell like he did. I remember he was being touted as everybody's favorite prospect like Oladipo as a top 5 pick, and there were even reports the Pistons may have given Leonard a promise.

Leonard didn't fall. He was really never viewed as a top 10 pick and this board was not high on him at all.

The consensus is never really the consensus. Draft experts are terribly wrong year after year. This year "Alex Len" is shooting up draft boards. Gimme a break. Len isn't even in my top ten.

I think I was Veselys biggest fan predraft. However Im not surprised at all he never developed in Washington. The Bullets havent drafted and devolped an allstar since Unseld was ROY and MVP. If the Bullets draft you then either you suck or your doomed.

I wouldnt be surprised if he leaves and and goes somewhere and becomes a player. Then the Bullets fans will can blame the GM for not keeping him when they dont understand that these guys became good because they left not that they were traded to early.

i also do recall that, but we would have traded down if that was the case. Ford honestly is just as good as any of our news sources. He's guess is little more educated as he has additional sources, but even thoughs sources are just opinions of other beat writers. Fact of the matter is , especially in Detroit, is everything is smoke until draft day.

Brandon Knight is an Eric Gordon type, hes not a PG. He has less court vision than Kemba and less than Stuckey. He is a scorer and at the 2 spot thats fine but hes not a guy Detroit needs and I don't think hes a "must have" type of guy either

That being said, it would not surprise me if Joe drafted Brandon Knight or Alec Burks with the intention to convert them to the PG position, that seems to be his MO.

I think Choob is the only guy who thought Farhied would be as good as he currently is. I hated his size. 6'7 PF? No thanks. I think he's an amazing bench player but I wouldnt want him as my teams starting PF.

still dont get this extreme hate for knight. i still really like him. i definitely give him a good chance to be good this year if calderon isnt signed. he is a terrific defender, and has that will to win. came up clutch several times last season. there were a lot of time last season where he was the only one competing. everyone else was just accepting losses. i still have a lot of hope for him to start taking great steps this season.

I agree with you on brandon knight. It's way too early to be calling him out. I fully expect Brandon to average 16-18 ppg in his 4rth or 5th year in the NBA and by that time the pistons will be pretty good with Monroe and Drummond.

In 2011 there was a lot of hype that Utah was going to take Knight at #3 to replace Williams since they had Favors/Jefferson/Millsap in the mix already.

Toronto was supposedly a sure thing to take Knight.

A lot of people looked at Thompson as a bit of a reach at #8 due to size and basketball skills concerns. Cleveland shocked everyone there and again with Waiters.


We could pick nits and say how interesting a Drummond/George/Leonard/Jrue Holiday group could be, but all things considered I'd have to give Joe an A for sitting still and getting Drummond/Monroe/Knight.

I vividly remember wanting Holiday over Daye, but I was thrilled on draft day the last 3 years.
