I wonder if Love would ask Scola if he'd like his shoe deal?

If PHX wanted to dump a guy, it'd probably be Beasley, so cheap Sarver doesn't have to buy him out. SCB is in trouble with the law, and he is a tweener forward that needs to go especially if Williams is coming in. Beasley isn't a huge hit to salary - he could be removed via the stretch provision for about $3 mil/year over 3 years. However, nobody, and maybe especially the cheap Sarver, wants to pay a player $9 million for a guaranteed zero production.

If they like Adams a lot, I'd be more than happy to send them #9 & #26 for #5!

From the article:
Suns GM: "[At] the end of the day, he'd probably end up somewhere in the top of the first round. We have one pick there and maybe we'll be able to get some more."

Beasley is completely unguaranteed in 14-15, so I don't think he's that much of a negative contract. Essentially an expiring deal.

I saw that they would like another pick. In which case I wonder if:

#9 + Williams + Barea + Stiemsma for #30 + Gortat + Dudley + '14 MN 1st returned makes sense.

Minnesota can target Ledo, Rice Jr., Snell, Karasev at 26 and a big like Muscala, WIthey at 30 or vice versa as developmental players at the end of the bench. Dudley is solid if unspectacular but he is very consistent. Gortat provides great insurance in case of an injury or Pek receiving a ludicrous offer in free agency. They'd form the best center-duo in the league and we wouldn't have to worry about foul trouble.

Rubio/Ridnour/Shved
Dudley/Shved/#26
Kirilenko/Budinger/#26
Love/Cunningham/#30
Pekovic/Gortat/#30

We could also ask for Marshall, who is Rubio-lite but I don't know if I'm too biased.

Jimmy Smith ‏@JimmySmith504 1h
Hearing that C Alex Len, who visited with #Pelicans on Friday, is now the likely choice for #Cavs at No. 1 spot in next week's draft.

This draft could go:

1) Cavs = Len
2) Magic = Noel (Magic not looking to win this year)
3) Wizards = Porter
4) Bobcats = Bennett or Mclemore
5) Suns = Mclemore/Oladipo/Bennett/Adams
6) Pelicans......

......quite possibly a small chance Mclemore falls to 6.....a decent chance, maybe 50/50 Oladipo falls to 6th.

Maybe we should start talking to the Pelicans about their 6th pick?

1. Cavs - Len
2. Magic - Noel
3. Wizards - Porter
4. Bobcats - Bennett
5. Suns - Oladipo
6. Pelicans - Burke
7. Kings - Carter-Williams
8. Pistons - McCollum
9. Wolves - McLemore

5) Suns = Oladipo
6) Pelicans = who cares

If Len does go #1 why wouldn't the Pelicans deal with us? They should be able to get Burke or MCW at 9, or at the very least McCollum who can play some PG. But chances are very good they will be able to acquire Burke or MCW with the 9th pick. With Gordon chewing up some big money they are not going to select Mclemore or Oladipo, whoever falls to them at SG. The Pelicans want AD to play PF so they are trying to pick a BIG with their first pick but if Len falls at #1 why not move down to #9 and still get Adams?

Not sure what we can give them to move up 3 spots. Derrick Williams would be an overpay as I don't see anything comparable that they can give back despite the higher draft pick in the 1st round.

Exactly. Still have to get up to AT LEAST 5 for Oladipo

You may be right, but HOLYSMOKE the Bobcats need help in their frontcourt. They need a scorer desperately at PF if they are going to go with under sized Biz at center and non-scoring defensive gem in Gilchrist at SF. I just can't see the Bobcats not picking Bennett or even Zeller at the 4 spot. Walker is always going to be chucking up shots for them at the PG position, and I think they want to resign Henderson for 4/28 or something close.

I guess Noel could drop to the Pelicans if the rumor of Cavs liking Len for #1 is true.

Noel and Davis in two years................... :o

Or they could draft McLemore or Olidapo, and try hard to move Eric Gordon.

Very difficult to move Gordon at this time, Pelicans would have to sell low. I don't think Flip would be interested in Gordon. IMO.
