Would det help the clippers clear salary?

Post#1 » by spearsy23 » Mon Jun 17, 2013 11:46 pm

What would your guy's perspective be on a trade of

Griffin/Bledsoe/butler for Greg Monroe? I know Monroe has a lot of value, but is it more an Bledsoe + griffin and an expiring?
“If you're getting stops and you're making threes and the other team's not scoring, that's when you're going to see a huge point difference there,” coach Billy Donovan said.

Clips would say no pretty quick, that's a lot to give up. maybe just Griffin/Butler?

The problem is I don't think that clears quite enough cap for Dwight. Would the pistons have room to swap butler with Jordan? From lac perspective this could be the difference between a Paul/Dwight/Monroe lineup and a Blake griffin lead team.

I doubt they would even entertain that. Griffin is a building block there and would be paired with Dwight. We could probably get Bledsoe/Jordan for Moose...no thanks

On the Clippers/Garnett Trade : Boston try'n to make LA to take C.Lee off their hands as a salary dump. Joe need to offer the 56th pick for Lee, to help the clippers

If the rumors about the Clippers wanting to trade Griffin/Bledsoe + some other things for Dwight are true, then I could see us (with a sliver of a chance) to make this sort of deal happen. I would love to have Griffin on this team, but only if he works on his footwork and develop a nice post game as well as a consistent jumper.

Clippers might do this deal:

Monroe + #8

for

Jordan, Butler, Griffin, Bledsoe

That's an instant 22M savings to go after Dwight without having to sign and trade which would never happen

CP3 / Monroe / Dwight / #8 pick

Didn't know the Clippers would have a fire sale for Griffin. They're trying to get a deal done that would bring KG in.

Like CGC said, they'd probably do Bledsoe and Jordan for Monroe and the #8, but I can't say I'd be game for that deal.

I'm personally not that interested in Detroit getting involved with any Clipper deals. Bledsoe has become overrated.

IMO Clippers should do 2 different trades.

#1 Bledsoe + Butler to Detroit for Singler.
#2 Jordan to Portland for Leonard.

They'd need Howard and Paul to get a pay cut but if they're serious about play together they'll need to do it.

LAC roll with Paul/Green/Singler/Griffin/Howard with Crawford/Leonard off the bench.

Griffin and Drummond is horrible, Monroe is a much better fit with Drummond.

Makes no sense for us to waste almost all our resources to upgrade a position that doesn't need to be upgrade while we move on with the same holes we've been having.

I'd definitely be willing to help out the Celtics if they wanted to dump Lee on us. I'd be willing to do the Clippers Second Rounder for Lee and Sullinger but I think they wouldn't deal Sullinger but i'd take Lee and Fab Melo for that pick. Melo would be a good defensive shot blocking back-up to Detroit and we'd address our need at SG:

PG Brandon Knight/Rodney Stuckey
SG Courtney Lee/Kim English
SF Kyle Singler/Jonas Jerebko/Khris Middleton
PF Greg Monroe/Charlie Villanueva
C Andre Drummond/Fab Melo/Slava Krastov

Yeah, I think Howard will go to Dallas...I want Paul to meet Howard in Dallas, but the Clippers may persuade Paul to stay because there aggressively trying to bring in talent...Maybe we'll see Howard, Ellis, and Smith on the same team in Dallas?..That team would be nice...

blake griffins contract expires in 2014,my only problem is he would bolt for greener pastures,so we get rid of monroe for a rental of blake who dosent have any ties here, did not get drafted by us so he dosent have any loyalty to us like monroe has.Not really interested unless hes willing to do some sort of extension.

I think Blkbrd has a point to a certain extent.

Griffin has superstar status right now, but he relies heavily on his athleticism and is yet to develop much of a post game. He's obviously capable of doing so, but so is Dwight Howard, or at least we thought.
If you look at who compliments Drummond more, you'd have to go with Monroe because he's like the ying to drummonds yang. Griffin is also yang, a very good yang, but still another yang.

Drummond needs an athletic four who can spread the floor a bit and pull out opposing 4s from doubling him in the post. Someone who can step back and make 15 footers. Griffin can't do that. Blake also lacks a "Polished" post game which bring him to superstar status. While I think Monroe is a better fit next to Drummond, I in no means what so ever feel he is the perfect fit. If you believe this, you are either Joe Dumars or a big homer.
