Hmmm.

What? Miggy just had the best season of his career and Trout was still superior... Pretty simple conclusion unless you think Trout's production will fall off a cliff.

Look at my posts in this thread, I agree with you.

On a lighter note:

This Tigers team is built to win this year. The SP and lineup is the best it's been in my lifetime and I've watched them since 1979.

World Series or bust in MoTown.

Some other great teams (in AL & NL) too.

Or unless you think that a year and a third can't be automatically extrapolated into a better career than someone who's already got TEN GREAT YEARS ON THE BOOKS and is playing better than he ever has.

Simple conclusion... I've seen some Trout fanboys before but this is silly. If Trout had seven years in or something I could see it. But a season and a third? Come on, now.

No doubt. By then Cabrera will have made the HOF on the first ballot and Trout will be...well, who knows? Maybe great, probably good, possibly the victim of a blown ACL and a "Damn, what could have been" story.

Like I said, I'm not saying Trout doesn't have the potential to have a great, even HOF career. But to say that it's silly to assume that he won't WHILE HE'S IN THE MIDDLE OF HIS SECOND SEASON is ludicrous. Because to say that is saying that every great rookie season will result in an HOF career. And as we all know, that's not what happens.

Is it that hard to "build to win" in that cheesy division?

We aren't building to win our "cheesy division" we're going for the World Series. If we just wanted to win our division, we would have let Sanchez walk, and wouldn't have signed Hunter.

@ESPNStatsInfo: Mike Trout is first player ever with at least 15 HR, 5 triples, 25 doubles and 20 stolen bases before the All-Star break.

WAR - The sabr's only weapon. We get it. Trout is a racehorse kid and Cabrera resembles the Babe.

I'm fine with Miggy..

I can see how measuring a player's complete-game is so threatening to the triple-slash argument.

The mere fact that this debate is being had between a second year guy vs one of the best hitters in the past 10-20 years (who happens to be in his prime) says a lot about the second year guy.

Don't recall any Trout fans saying Miggy wasn't a "beast". He's by far the best hitter in baseball and probably the most dominant since Bonds...

Yankees fan here. I would trade every and any player on the yanks for Cabrera without any hesitation. Most dominant hitter since Bonds (who I consider the best baseball player ever).
