Blazer Draft Party!

Post#1 » by TBpup » Tue Jun 18, 2013 5:53 pm

This year it will be held at Buffalo Wild Wings Lloyd Center location. (1200 NE Broadway) Festivities start at 4:00 p.m. where they will be hosting Courtside along with in-draft reports from Wheels at the Blazer Practice Facility. The Blazer Dancers will stop by and there will be a number of promotions and giveaways.

D69, Billy and I will be there along with a couple of other Blazer faithful coming in from out of town. We will have real time updates along with additional draft info for those that can make it out. It's been a great time in years past and I expect more Draft Day activity than last year.

Who is going to be there?

Do you still get picks/inside info before they go down TBPup?

Sadly not as much as we used to. A couple of our very good sources have moved on and the replacements have not been near as forthcoming. We still get some pieces here and there but the days of having almost every pick before it was made may have come to end.

The "Rudy, Rudy, Rudy" chant several picks before the trade was announced and the pick was made caused Mike Barrett give one of the all-time priceless face contortions. :P Same with when the O-Live guy moved his laptop from the media area over to where we were because we were getting stuff before him. That was a lot of fun. Miss the good 'ole days...

I like this plan better than the RG party last year. I like the Club Level... but I like wings too!

It's been a few years since I've been able to go.

Count me in this time! You guys going to hold spots for everyone?

We'll hold spots for as many people as confirm they are coming if at all possible. We usually have someone get there a little early and reserve seats if possible so we are up near the front or in a place we can have multiple seats. We usually have enough room to squeeze in the random drop in like DVM or Charcoal Filtered. :P

Glad you can make it.

You can just sit and hang out. It will be 'Boneless Wing Thursday' so boneless wings are 55 cents a piece all night long I believe. Are you in?

I should wear a jersey for every team switch when they are on the clock

Pup, I'm in. I get off work around 3pm so I may be able to get there early and help reserve some space. Where are the Blazers broadcasting from? Wonder if any of the sports radio stations will be broadcasting remotely?

Odd, I'll pick you up at 3:30pm. Be ready!!!

Great. Hoopsfan from Arizona should be there early as well so you can help him guard the seats till the cavalry arrives. How much will you charge Mr Odd for taxi service?

Either 1 wing per 1/10th of a mile

or

1 wing per minute drive time.

I should create a poll and have our forum members vote!!!

Let's say 1/8 of a mile per city block. At 11 blocks, that is 1 3/8 miles. Yellow Cab charges $2.50 for pick-up and 2.60 per mile. So $2.50 plus $3.58 in mileage = $6.08....round to $7.00 with tip. Wings are 55 cents on 'Wing Thursday' so that comes out to 12.72 wings at that rate. At your proposed wing rate of 1 wing = 1/10 of a mile, you get almost 14 wings.

Drive time would be about 5 minutes at 3:30 p.m. netting you only 5 wings. Take the mileage rate at either calculation.

Done!!!!!!!!!! I'll charge 14 wings, give you the typical 4% managerial fee and still have 13 wings leftover. Hmmm, the number 13... #13 draft pick? It's official, if Odd comes to the draft party, the Blazers will trade with Dallas to acquire the #13 pick. C'mon odd, you can make it all happen!!!
