Well, in fairness, we took Mike Pence off their hands. Taking back Mahinmi is the least they can do.

Re: NBA Games Discussion Thread - Part 2
If San Antonio goes on to lose this game, you can directly attribute it to the 4th quarter opening lineup Pop had on the floor.
No Parker or Duncan (I understand they need rest but at the same time?) for the first 5 minutes? Sticking with Manu Ginobili nearly the whole quarter? Yeesh.

Epic choke is epic. Lebron, completely anti clutch. No balls, twice passing up jumpers in favor of poor passes.
Way to pass the buck.

Miami went on a huge run with Wade on the bench. As soon as he came (3:40 left?)back in their offense struggled again. Just shows the importance of spacing.

HUGE Lebron fan, but this game CLEARLY shows Lebron is no Jordan.
He is the BIGGEST choke artist.
Even if they win, he did everything in his power to win.
He vacillates between greatness and ineptitude.
SO FRUSTRATING.

Re: NBA Games Discussion Thread - Part 2
Not that you call the game tight down the stretch but Manu was fouled on the drive (clearly) and Green was fouled on the 3pt attempt (which I didn't have a problem with the no-call but it was still a foul nonetheless).

Re: NBA Games Discussion Thread - Part 2
That no-call on Manu was egregious. It was practically a make-up call for the (correct) non-call on Lebron the previous play. They didn't even pretend to replay it like they did for the Heat. Just insane.

I miss being in the playoffs
Even when we were only making it to the 1st round, I had so much fun watching us go to war with LeBron for a two week span. Good times. We really need to make the playoffs this year. I'm not advocating making impatient, short-sighted moves or anything like that, but I just really want to experience the fun that is the playoffs again, even if we're just the 8 seed getting swept by LeBron and the Heatles.

Re: NBA Games Discussion Thread - Part 2
Both teams gave everything they had tonight. Pop messed up with his rotation at the end, should have had Timmy in after Leonard missed one FT to get a rebound.
Normally I'd say the road team is finished but Pop don't seem to be too concerned even after blowing that shot. They're probably the only team in the NBA that can bounce back after a heart breaker like that.
Manu is better off shot jacking than passing and Parker shot terribly. Duncan and Leonard were FANTASTIC.
LeBron stepped up in the 4th and the spacing was great till Wade got back in. If the Heat lose the series, it'll be because of their predictability on offense especially with Wade out there on the floor.
I really wanted to see Timmy get #5 along with Pop but man, history isn't on their side with no road team winning the finals Game 7 in the 2-3-2 format and our Bullets being the last team in general to win a Game 7 on the road in the NBA Finals.
I want to count out San Antonio due to conventional wisdom but in my gut, I feel like they aren't done yet.

Re: NBA Games Discussion Thread - Part 2
I think Spurs will ice it in game 7. It took a triple double from LeBron (who was passive in crunch time), a desperation 3 by Ray Ray and several key blocks on jump shots by Bosh. And even then they only just made it across the line.
That last play involving Manu, I felt like Pops should have taken a time out to get Parker back in the game. They were pushing it, and Manu got fouled, but I felt they forced it and he should have known better. You don't get that call in overtime, in Miami, in game 6 of the NBA finals with the series on the line. Take the time out, get into an offensive set, and try and get a decent look. Duncan was cleaning the glass all game, even if you miss the shot there is still a chance he gets the tip again.
Tim had a phenomenal game, Parker was average, Manu was turrible, Leonard had another good game and Diaw contributed well. Leonard has been consistently good all series. If Duncan can be Duncan, Parker can have a bit of a better game, all it takes is for Green or Manu to step up and it should be in the bag for the Spurs.

Re: NBA Games Discussion Thread - Part 2
LBJ played 50 minutes and had to expend a monstrous amount of energy in the 4th/ot. I think the Heat's shooter in game 7 will be hard pressed to go 11/19, with the exception of Rio they are all fairly old. Tired legs will catch up to them and Bron. I expect a low scoring game in the mid 70s to low 80s. Then notion that the Spurs are just gonna mail it in and let the Heat crush them is stupid. They have a chance to attain greatness.
Momentum has NOT mattered in this series. Each game has its own unique storyline. We're in for a treat thursday.
I still think Timmy delivers another surprising performance and someone outside of Leonard actually shows up helping them seal the victory.
Wade's game 4 was a FLUKE.

Re: NBA Games Discussion Thread - Part 2
Last night was a heartbreaker. All the Spurs had to do was make one extra free throw or grab one more rebound and the ship was theirs. They are a tough team and obviously anything can happen, but I feel that the Heat are going to take game 7 given it will be at home and they will understand that they basically came back from the dead to get another shot. Also, aside from the non-call for Manu at the end, I thought the officiating was extremely fair last night. LeBron certainly did not get the calls that he normally does. I don't see that happening again. My gut feeling is that last night was the Spurs shot and unfortunately, they choked. Hope I am wrong.
I am leaving for vacation early Friday morning so I don't plan on watching the game Thursday night. I'll tape it so if the Spurs win I can enjoy watching it later. If they lose, I don't have to watch the Heat celebrating.
The only thing that does make me feel good is that even if MIami wins the championship this year, I don't see multiple championships in the future. Wade appears to be declining significantly and the role players like Allen, MIller and Battier are not getting any younger.

Tim Duncan has a noticable limp while he is walking. His bad left knee collided with Bosh in the 2nd half.
He needs to be 100% for the Spurs to have a shot.
