So many Bryan Colangelo's here with the trading of picks like they're throw ins.

And no trading 2nd rounders for rental PGs.

Rudy Gay
Demar Derozan
Amir

works for both sides. we might get Noel or Mclemore(preferably Ben) with this pick and tank it for Wiggins. theWizards seem commited to a contender around John Wall so they get a starting 3 in Gay and a 6th man in Derozan. imagine Wiggins/Mclemore/Val as our big 3....imagine.

Does that put the Raptors in a significantly better long term position if we DON'T get Wiggins?

If Raps are really looking to tank hard next season, I think they should look to sign Manu Ginobili. Will be the best tank commander this franchise has ever had.

No. Some people will claim the opposite but the reality is that there is a stark difference between a franchise changer like Lebron James and a perennial all-star like Carmelo Anthony. Franchise changers are the real deal and guys you can truly build around; Perennial all-stars are overrated talents that will never lead your team anywhere as a number one option.

All-stars like Blake Griffin and Rajon Rondo are not the difference makers that Chris Paul and Kevin Durant are. That is just how the cookie crumbles.

Andrew Wiggins will be one of the great players in our era... I really think he'll come back to play with the Toronto one day once he's free.

That's why I keep hope for our city and our franchise... we'll be in the conversation one day.

I think we'll soon see Cousins to Washington for #3 + Salary conversation

I am not fan of Cousins, but that sort of deal is basically the Wiz robbing the Kings at gunpoint.
Not to see it can't happen (Grunfeld).

Maybe a Cousins + Salmons for Okafor + 3 + 54
Even then the Wiz make off like bandits.

Not sure if that works from a cap stance?

I also don't think the Wiz are in any rush to add DeRozan who simply takes time from Beal.
I think they are looking for another offensive weapon upfront, Gay may fill that requirement but from a salary stance we would need to take back Okafor and Ariza to make that happen.

If we could get Seraphim in there +#3 - get er done. A Rudy package beats an Ersan package any day.

Trade ID #6285442

Raptors trade: Bargnani and Gray
GSW trade: Biedrin and Brandon Rush

Raptors finally get rid of Bargnani for a back up C in Biedrin (1 year left) and Brandon Rush (3-D swingman)

This is what I would look at as a great offseason:

1. Trade Ross for a pick to grab Dennis Shroeder (wherever he goes in the lottery).

2. Sign and trade Lowry for Paul Millsap.

3. Trade Bargnani for an expiring and a pick (this draft or future). Opens up our flexibility... maybe Biedrins' expiring, or Ben Gordon?

4. Sign Jose Calderon... bring him back for most of the MLE. He can start until Shroeder is ready... he'd also make a great mentor to Shroeder as a pass first PG... I can see him being a better mentor than Lowry.

5. Sign Martell Webster... cheap contract, and he's a good shooter on the wing off the bench.

Lineup:

Calderon / Shroeder
DeRozan / Gordon / Webster
Gay / Webster / Fields
Millsap / Amir / Acy
Valanciunas / Amir / Gray

I think that's a good, young lineup that compliments eachother well. I see a lot of potential with that core. Especially if Shroeder and JV grow up quickly. It also gives us about $15 million in expiring going into the next offseason. The flexibility/potential is key.

I think we can get more for ross.
Dennis is expected to go mid to late first round

If so, we should be able to get more out of it... even better. Stockpile assets.

There is NO interest in Rudy Gay or Demarr Derozan from Washington's POV. They wouldn't even give you straight expirings for Gay, let alone throw in the #3. That's just downright silly.

Not bad. Not perfect but Probably the most realistic proposal ive seen so far. I also think we can get more for Ross.

Add the Washington Wizards to the list of teams that are in the mix for the services of Grizzlies small forward Rudy Gay, according to a league source. Not clear on what the Wizards' offer might be but was told it was "a good one."
