But why? There's no need to blow smoke when you are picking #1. Even if everyone knows who you want to pick, it's not like they can trade ahead of you and steal him. And unlike a couple years ago, the Cavs don't have a second high lottery pick to prepare for where a smokescreen could actually help them.

I'm not saying that Gilbert and Co aren't annoying in some ways. But saying they are intentionally leaking false information about their intentions for laughs at the rest of the league's expense (what trolling is IMO) is a bit far fetched.

I didn't think the green font was necessary.

If the rumors of Len going #1 weren't entirely agent driven (and I don't think they were), then they could simply be trying to drive up the price for any team that really wanted him (particularly slots 3-6) for them to trade down.

That's seems a reasonable justification. I also think its easily possible that he could be the guy at #1, for months on end there's been speculation that a healthy Len, had a real strong chance of convincing teams he was worth the #1 overall. Now granted the same things true of Noel, but it seems very, very, very clear that NBA men think far more of Len than they do of board favorite's Zeller and Olynyk, particularly in terms of long term developmental upside. It wouldn't surprise me at all if he went #1. I think #1 could be any of four guys (Len, Porter, Noel, or Oladipo).

Tier 3
Players:
Anthony Bennett
Alex Len
Ben McLemore
Nerlens Noel
Victor Oladipo
Otto Porter Jr.

Damn, Ford has no Tier 1 or Tier 2 prospects, his prospects begin at Tier 3 :(

Come on, Bennett look like a stud. Him on this team could really open the floor for Wall and Beal(who been working on his drives) with his threatening jump shot as well as his handle . Also Beal is a beast on defense when healthy. People forgetting that. Also Beal and Wall's skill really open up Bennett to make is nice drives which he seem like a beast at. Melo Jr right there. Clear future playoff contender if he pans out. Just need to stick the right kind of coach and trainers on him like glue. Get that defense up. Yeah it was not great, but not as bad as people making it out to be. His Offense really will fix some issues the team had early in the season when wall was out. Now imagine Wall+Bennett combo. Pure domination. This guy could be better than Nene if he holds up.

At this point, assuming Noel is not there (and he is medically cleared), here is my preference:

1) Len (I'm a sucker for bigs)
2) trade down with Minny for Derrick Williams and take Zeller with Minny pick (if Zeller is not there, take Mccollum)
3) Porter

I like Porter or Noel and Bennet is the third option.

I have a suggestion: After trying the sort the wheat from the chaff for the last 400 pages of draft analysis, can we just have a thread that contains 1 post per user? Each user gets to make their case, and edit as the wind blows.

There's alot of expertise here, and it would be nice to have a Cliff Notes version. Plus someone (ahem) could lock the thread before the draft, for posterity's sake...

Something like:

Your top 5

Who wizzers should draft

Who wizzers shouldn't draft

Who they will draft...

TBH that sounds about right. Could see Oladipo and Noel in tier 2 though.

Tier 1: Davis
Tier 2: Robinson, MGK, Beal , Barnes
Tier 3: Drummond, Lillard, Waiters
Tier 4: Henson, Jones III, Jones, Lamb, Leonard, Marshall, Rivers, Ross, Sullinger, Zeller
Tier 5: Harkless, Melo, Miller, Moultrie, Nicholson, Teague, White, Wroten
Tier 6: Aldemir, Barton, Cunninghram, Ezeli, Fournier, Green, Jenkins, Johnson, Lamb, Oquin, Plumlee, J. Taylor, T. Taylor, Papanikolaou

Widely accepted tier system on espn last year. Robinson was tier ahead of drummond and lillard. Most on the board last year agreed whole heartedly.

This year adams is the in the same position as Drummond. Don't make the same mistake that last year's teams made Washington. Adams should be ranked in tier two just like drummond should have been ranked at the top of tier two last year.

you got the same over hyped prospects like zeller taking the place of robinson. you got the good at everything great at nothing mkg and porter. You have got the slashing combo guard that is undersized in waiters. You got the soft big who hates contact with poor lower body strength (sticks for thighs) in Davis--(and has no explosiveness offensively)--in both noel and zeller.
Build your team w/5 shooters using P. Pierce Form deeply bent hips and lower back arch at same time b4 rising into shot. Elbow never pointing to the ground! Good teams have an engine player that shoot volume (2000 full season) at 50 percent.Large Hands

You are kidding right ?

Your are comparing Noel to RG3 ?

I don't think you can say Zeller would be more ready day one then Burke and VO.

But if Zeller can really shoot from outside like we saw him practicing, he is going to open some eyes real quick once the season starts.

Meanwhile, Noel is living on small sample size hype at a position he won't even being playing in the pros.

Otto is getting tones of extra points for being from GTown and being a solid character leader type guy.

Meanwhile, Burke, Zeller and VO got it done all the way to the finals.

The way the board is split over players, there is going to be a lot of complaining no matter who is picked.
