What exactly is their chemistry? I'm not saying they won't click, but why project such perfect symmetry when they merely played together for one year, and that was more than three years ago. What if the Wizards give up two 1st round picks, and Cousins never improves on his very fatal flaws? That pretty much blows the John Wall era.

What flaws do cousins have?..he lacked a pure pg lik wall and even thoufh he has attitude problems its nothing more than andrew bynums...like bynum and dwight he jus wants his attempts downlow walk would have no problem giving him those....amd with the spacing of beal and webster sht sh b perfect offensively

What possible strengths does Cousins have that would justify giving him a max contract even if we could do it for a S&T for Okafor and Ariza with nothing else thrown in?

He's a good rebounder (though not as good as, say Reggie Evans)
He shoots a lot (though not at a particularly good percentage)

On the other hand,
His defense isn't good
He's not a particularly good passer
He hasn't shown a high basketball IQ to this point
He's a spoiled immature PITA

This isn't a good deal. IF he ever gets it, it will be like an alcoholic going to rehab; it's going to take several years and no one wanting him so he realizes he isn't all that and a bag of chips . . . how many years did it take Zach Randolph to "get it?" And Zach is the best case scenario; worst case is J.R. Rider type issues.

I'd give up Okafor and our #3 for him, but not the 2014 pick. It might pay off to be patient though. Cousins is tanking his own trade value.

If Cousins continues to complain, we might get him mid-season for just Okafor and the 2014 pick.

Yeah, including the 2014 pick is a no, but I'd be open to #3 and Okafor, and also try to steal the other KY teammate - Patrick Patterson from them - offering to include any (and as many) of Ernie's kids they want. Take em all if they can fit em - Seraphin, Vesely, Singleton, and Booker.

I'd like to see if there are other options on the table before we would deal the pick for Cousins.

I know it's a long-shot but Nene for Pau Gasol is a move I'd be ecstatic about as Pau's game would compliment the defensive-minded Okafor while his passing and mid-range ability would add another dimension to our offense.

I could live with acquiring Big Cuz, though. Do I explicitly trust our organization to manage his ego and temper? No, but a leap of faith is necessary at times.

Salmons is expensive, but is really useful, more than Ariza, he can play 2-3, he's a good passer and defender too.

I don't particularly want DMZ on this Wizards team, but I would do this trade. Only b/c it keeps Okafor here. I think Okafor and DMZ would pay well together and with Nene, would hopefully be good influences.

I like Porter more than Cuz. I like Len more than Cuz. I like Dipo more than Cuz, but he doesnt fit.

If Len and Porter are gone, then do it. This all day:

Reminds me of the ersan trade...how many players have excellent defense nd can give you 20pts a night tht we hve a chance at with a draft pick and a old or useless player...
I don't care about his defense, that 20 and 10 is enough...

Trade next year's pick (with some protection) for a mid first - and take Dieng or Whithey or even Plumlee.

I would take Cousins all things being equal but a draft pick makes more sense because that player will be locked into his rookie deal whereas Cousins will be making max money.

Good point. I think Cousins's temperament is a bigger issue than his contract. It would be much easier if we didn't have to rely on Wall to be our Demarcus Whisperer. Then again, if he were more stable he wouldn't be available. I'd risk it.

Cousins is an upgrade over okefor and also has relations as well as being very young. You guys dont want him? there isn't to many C that are this good or young we best get him now and wait next year to see if we can get a better quality draft than we do now.

We are probably gonna draft a PF any way so why not get Cousins?

Lol i know right.....people wanna keep okefor over Cousins is beyond me. Our D will be fine without okefor we need to score more points and Cousins has mad potential to be a top 5 C in the NBA.

Risk it...just get him than depending how we do next year pick up a quality SF in the draft or better yet how do u know if we get Cousins guys that we wont attract other stars...thats how it works you got good players which can bring even more good players.

We can risk trades for young players its not like this guy is like 32.

I THINK the max contract stuff is a bluff so they can be forced to trade him.

dude had a 34 points-22 reb his finale game...i highly doubt nene or Okefor are able to do that at this point. We would be pin point playoff seed asap if we get him.

Nahh, not giving up all that. He was 5th pick and he might be the 5th or 6th best player in that draft. His rookie deal is coming to an end so his rookie discount is almost up.

But he said trade or max, not both. He can be traded cheaply right now given his salary.

I would give them the 3rd and Singleton. Thats where I start my bidding.

I could actually see him coming here instead of us using the pick. He and Wall have a plan to get him here. It was always just a matter of time. We already now Wall likes to play GM. And since we have the inside track on managing him, we get a discount. I don't think he is worth as much to other teams as he is here.

SAC needs a culture change and moving Cousins would help. So would the #3 pick.

They could walk from this draft with players like Burke, CJM, VO, Adams, Zeller, Kelly O.

I think that would be good for them.
