If we do my Dallas trade we can get McCollum and Adams plus solidify the bench with Carter, Marion, and JO :)

I really like our teams as trade partners, it makes a lotta sense for everyone.

I wouldn't mind doing the trade for Dallas's pick and drafting both Adams and Gobert and create a 3 way competition for the COTF between them and Leonard. Size wins in the NBA

Goberts size and length sure is intriguing. He's got a really high bust factor, but if he pans out...... We're talking a leading the NBA in blocked shots kind of player.

Shawn Bradley couldn't jump, was slow, and uncoordinated. Gobert is none of those things. You can't compare the two just because they are tall and long.

We might as well compare Burke to Chris Paul just because they are short.

Don't be lazy.

Is Robin Lopez his ceiling or his floor?

2013 NBAdraft.net profile of Steven Adams

http://www.nbadraft.net/players/steven-adams

Strengths: Bigman with tremendous combination of size, length and athleticism ... Just scratching the surface of his considerable talent ... Extremely fluid. Runs the floor like a deer ... Tremendous rebounder with huge, soft hands and strong arms ... Has a great frame with broad shoulders and already has good amount of strength/weight .... Plays the game with a lot of energy/exuberance. Blue color work ethic/attitude. Has been shielded from the AAU sytem and the pampering and hype that he would have received had he been raised in the USA basketball system ... Tremendous motor and shows a willingness to compete and be coached ... His upside is considerable and he really hasn't developed any bad habits ... Has been working on correcting his jumpshot in the past year, and it has shown considerable improvement, as it had a hitch in it last year at the 2010 adidas Nations (Chicago) and now appears much more fluid ... His feel for the game is surprising considering the amount of time he's been playing the game at a high level ... His passing is good for a bigman showing excellent touch on outlet passes ... Excellent shot blocker. His length makes it very easy for him to block shots, even when he's slightly out of position ... Huge, soft hands makes him a great rebounder ...

Weaknesses: Has never played basketball against a high level of competition, however he's developed a solid base of fundamentals and holds his own against high level players ... Free throw shooting is still a major weakness to his game. But he recognizes that and is working to become better from the line ... Will need to embrace being a star. He's a humble kid and doesn't seem to be overly comfortable in the spotlight, but he has some time to develop his confidence ... Post skills are a work in progress but he seems to have a solid understanding of what he needs to do in the post ...

Notes: The top International prospect on the immediate NBA horizon and will be the top center prospect in the NCAA in 2012 ... Committed to play for Jamie Dixon at Pittsburgh in 2012-13 ... Will graduate Scots College high school (New Zealand) in November and transfer to Notre Dame Prep in the US and then be eligible to play at Pittsburgh ...

2008 NBAdraft.net profile of Robin Lopez

http://www.nbadraft.net/players/robin-lopez

NBA Comparison: Andris Biedrins/Anderson Varejao
Aran Smith - 9/20/2007

Strengths: More mobile and athletic than his twin brother Brook Really hits the glass hard and hustles for loose balls An excellent shot blocker (led the Pac-Ten as a freshman at 2.4 per game) With his quickness and explosive leaping ability he has a real chance to be a factor as a shot blocker on the next level Foot speed is good allowing him to get to rebounds and run the floor very well Tough, hardnosed player willing to do the dirty work to help his team win Both brothers are extremely long and naturally strong and aggressive

Weaknesses: Unlike his brother who has a smooth offensive game, Robin is offensively challenged Lacks great moves in the post and struggles with his shooting touch Scores mostly on garbage baskets and cheapies around the hoop Must improve from the free throw line where he shot just 55% Feel for the game is questionable especially on the offensive end Not a great passer with vision of the floor When he receives the ball, he still appears to get nervous and turn it into a hot potato Experience and time should allow him to become a better offensive player, although its unlikely he will ever be the scorer that his brother is

Notes: The twins are said to want to leave Stanford at the same time. But based on skill development and playing the same position, it might be in Robins best interest to stay a year longer and get all of the offensive touches his brother receives in the post

The accounts I've read suggest that Gobert is really raw and mechanical. That is what reminded me of Bradley.

His offensive movements are rather raw, he needs to add confidence to his game, sometimes he seems too stiff and mechanical

Most big men are mechanical on offense especially in the last 10 years heading into the draft. I'm struggling to think of a Center that didnt. He looks the opposite on defense. Very fluid, hedges well, great hands, fast reaction, very good timing. Where he sucks on defense is man to man. He gets put off balance easily due to lack of strength. His frame looks like it can add bulk though. NBA training will do him a lot of good.

I wouldn't mind the Blazers picking up Gobert as a 3rd player if he dropped in the draft. However, I think there are other players that could help them more at 10 and 13 (if they did a trade with the Mavs).
