Cousins: "Max me to Trade Me"

Post#1 » by dukeknicksirish » Fri Jun 21, 2013 2:24 am

Proposed deal on other page:
Tristan Thompson, #1, and another future 1st
for
Demarcus Cousins, #7

Kings take Noel 1st overall, suck next year, try to win the lotto next year. If I were them I'd trade to do a sign and trade for Tyreke and some young prospect and a pick too. Blow it up, start over. You suck.

Cavs maybe take Cody Zeller? Irving/Waiters/someone/Zeller/Cousins is a strong young core going forward, and leaves a hole at the 3 going into next summer for LeBron...or maybe even Paul George?

Have heard from several sources that the Cavs have absolutely no interest in Cousins and his cancerous attitude.

Varejao + #19 for Cousins.

Cavs get healthy bigman, who can do it all. Plaiyng with Irving will help him a lot. They can be special, dynamic duo. Also Thompson compliments Cousins with hard work, hustle, intensity.

Depending on the offer, that would be a mistake.

I wouldn't touch Cousins for the max. Such a terrible contract if it ever happened.

Not for a max contract and trading valuable assets

You're dreaming. It would cost you a bit more than that.

It absolutely would not if he's insisting on a max contract

Actually, it would cost more, and the Cavs would be crazy to pay it. Miami should just send Bosh and a future unprotected #1 to Sacto for Cousins.

That future unprotected 1 would have to be in 2018. They traded a truck load of No. 1s when they signed the big three.

lol it's happening.

And it will be the Kings giving it to him. Mike Malone has said he wants to keep DMC.

Trade him to ORL.

Then you get back a TPE+picks.

Half the players who get the max don't deserve it. Joe Johnson, i.e.

The guy averaged 17/10 and is improving every year efficiency wise. Not only that he's near the top in charges drawn and gets a handful of steals for a big. There aren't many C's in the NBA who can do what DMC is doing, and his issues aren't even that big of a deal, he butted heads with a coach that hated young players and a terrible coach.

Winning will heal his problems, we have a PG who could actually put him in the spots to be crazy efficient. In Sacto he gets the ball and has to ISO, about 6-8 feet further out than he ever should be.

Joe Johnson ended up being a 6 time all star with the Hawks and they were a playoff team every year before his arrival not so much. He also was a role player on a playoff team before he's huge contract . Demarcus Cousins hasn't shown any maturity or leadership or won any games for the Kings . He hasn't done anything of note expect hit OJ Mayo in the nads. The Cavs can't afford to give a max deal to a head case who more than likely won't pan out. Haha at Kryie actually getting other players involved .

Come on man. Max contract or not, this offer suggest that the Cavs don't want him (which very well might be the case). There's absolutely no incentive at all for the Kings to do this kind of deal when they can get much better elsewhere. They're not just going to give him away for the sake of giving him away. Very little upside in Varejao (for a non-contender/playoff team) and the #19 pick.

Actually I think this is an overpay unless you think that the Cavs would be able to resign him. And if he's insisting on the max, I certainly hope we didn't resign him.

Well I definitely would not trade for him unless he agrees to re-sign immediately (and at a specific price). That's besides the point though. I'm just saying Varejao + #19 is in no shape or form going to net you Cousins. Personally, I would be willing to give up #1 (and another less valued asset) for Cousins at a max contract, but that's just me.

I don't think he's as big as a head case as some people make him out to be. And he definitely seems like he's been working to improve. Not to mention, he will spend another summer with Team USA (along with Kyrie and Waiters). I just can't see him playing with these group of guys (Kyrie in particular, since he's widely viewed as the most promising prospect in the league) and a somewhat respectable coach, and being a team cancer.

I'm okay with that, I have no real need for Cousins. He's way too big a risk
