DeMarcus Cousins

http://basketball.realgm.com/wiretap/228263/Report-Cousins-Wants-Max-Extension-Or-Trade-From-Kings

Dan Fegan, DeMarcus's agent, has informed the Kings that they extend Cousins with a max or a trade will be enforced. I always thought the Cousins/Monroe debate is very interesting to me and I always love reading people's opinions about the two.

Although I think the Kings will extend Cousins with a max contract, I wonder who here wants to go for him if that was not the case?

I think Washington and Cleveland would look into Cousins. But IMO, Cousins is Zach Randolph Pt. 2 in that he will be in his 30's and on his 4th team before he becomes a net positive.

I see him more as a Rasheed Wallace. Fools around but when it's time to get serious, he'll put it out on the floor. In my opinion, however, it will take him a couple more years to gain that type of maturity. I don't think he's shown it yet.

I used to want Cousins, not anymore. The Spurs would be a good fit though. They have the cap space. Sign and Trade Splitter for Cousins?

With Drummond, he isn't a fit anymore. Sorry.

Sheed's teammates loved him. Cousins's do not.

Exactly, Sheed was a great locker room guy.

Is he really that bad, or does he just not fit in Sacto?

My take on the situation was that he never really liked Sacto and they never really fully embraced him either.

But he's still an uber-talented guy who scores and rebounds better than Monroe and has better range on his shot than Monroe -- he might be a better fit next to Drummond long-term than Monroe.

Bottom-line: can he behave?

this plus, Sheed was intelligent, Cousins is not.

Sheed was just lazy and had a problem with authority, Cousins has issues.

Cousins has psychological issues, but he actually is intelligent.

Drummond & Monroe > Cousins

I think Washington reuniting Wall-Cousins may make the most sense, they have some random pieces like Seraphin, Singleton, Vesely plus could offer a flip of draft picks.

Cleveland seems to be targeting a more wholesome vibe than Cousins would allow.

I thinking Washington or a team like OKC, Spurs, Bulls, Heat are going to end up stealing him.

If the Lakers want him, I can see Stern orchestrating a three way trade moving Dwight to Dallas and Cousins to LA.

Only a moron or team desperate for a center would be interested in this walking monument to failure.

The only people who would be excited about "Boogie" coming to town are all the local strippers, who lost their mortgages once Darko was traded out of town.

Cousins has the talent to dominate, but I think it'll be years before he's matured enough to produce consistently and not be a lockerroom distraction. I wouldn't have traded Monroe for him before and I certainly wouldn't now that we have Drummond. But even if we didn't I wouldn't want to throw the max at him.

Singleton and Vesely wouldn't bring anything good to WAS. They flopped in that draft bad. They could have Wall/Beal/Leonard/Faried with only a need for a C, which they could nab at 3 in this draft.

That team would have been sick.

Whoa, slow it down with the Sheed comparisons. Sheed was a character, Cousins is a clown. And I don't mean that in a good way...
