Duncan Offended By Retirement Question

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Fri Jun 21, 2013 6:19 pm

Tim Duncan was asked if he may consider retiring following the San Antonio Spurs' disappointing Game 7 loss to the Miami Heat.

“Can’t believe you’re asking that question,” he said. “It’s been five, six years you’re saying we’re too old. I’m not going to answer that.”

Duncan was a First Team All-NBA selection and had a vintage performance in the NBA Finals.

Duncan's contract with the Spurs runs through 2015.

Yup, that was TP and it was a question about the Spurs' core being back next year.

I guess Duncan was offended by the question asked to Tony Parker.

He has a divorce to pay. He will need money, no way he retires.

I think theres a law somewhere that states if you can prove that your spouse was being disloyal, they get a much smaller share. Plus he has a prenuptial agreement for him. He didn't win a championship, but he's going to win in the other court 8-)

Prenup definitely lowers how much she will get significantly. And a judge is more likely to side with Duncan, especially with custody of the kids if she was found to be disloyal during the marriage. But for the topic at hand, Duncan looks younger than most big men when he was playing in the finals. He can handle at least another 2 seasons. Ginobli should consider retirement soon though.

Timmy needs to calm down. He's 37 years old. Its a natural question to ask. He can simply say, "No, I'm coming back next season" and move on. No need for this "offended" drama. SAS should not resign Manu and instead sign Howard.
