I live in NJ, have been a Green Bay fan for all my life and finally have the financial stability to make a trip to Lambeau field for the first time. I plan on this being one of many trips I take to Lambeau for the rest of my life, but for my first game I have one major question. Which game would you recommend I go to at Lambeau for a first time experience?

Division games are great, but any game you go to will be awesome. Make sure to get there very early and get your tailgating in.

Yea, the game doesn't particularly matter. The big thing is getting there hours early and setting up for a day of tailgating. Remember that Packer fans are friendly and others will treat you great, particularly if they know it's your first time there.

The Bears game. You get a two for one. You get to go to Lambeau to watch the Packers and you get to see the Bears lose in person.

Since it's your first I'd suggest a game earlier in the season when it's not bitterly cold.

3:00 games are the best imo. Lots of tailgate time and you get out at a decent time.

You talk about ordering tickets, where are you planning to do so? The Cleveland game would probably be the easiest to get tickets for at a reasonable price. Sometimes December games are cheaper but Atlanta and Pittsburgh are the December home games, those won't be cheap. Washington would be great since it's warm, the home opener and get to see RGIII (probably). Detroit too would be good. Actually other than Cleveland all the home games have appeal.

How long do you plan to be in GB? Do you have a hotel room? Pretty hard to get once the schedule is out unless you don't mind staying a half hour or more away.

Definitely do the Lambeau tour and Hall of Fame tour (packaged together for a discount). Those are not available on game days. The day before a game they are pretty crowded and booked but if you are there on Friday it would be no problem.

Im also a Packer fan who has always lived out of state. My dad was born and raised in Milwaukee but had never made it to Lambeau. I had been to Green Bay a few times for training camp and to the HOF, but never to a game. I took him a few years ago for a game in December. It was against the Jets and was like the worst home loss ever. The weather was tolerable but seemingly got colder with every Jets score. I wish you better luck. Maybe you should just goto the Cleveland game and increase your chances of seeing victory.

yea it doesnt matter what game you go to, it will be a great experience. I went to a pre-season game once and you couldnt tell if it was a playoff game or a game in August. Thats the Green Bay life.

Exactly wha MD said. Also, included though is if you plan on staying in a hotel you have to pay for the entire weekend for the room not just one night around the stadium. The hotels started doing this a few years ago and it sucks. I would recommend booking now and doing the tours on Friday (this is an absolute must and is just as important as the game) and then you have Saturday open to shop and see Green Bay.
If you go earlier in the season I recommend doing some fishing or checking out the state parks. The trees all will be changing colors in OCT and its awesome up there then.
Otherwise, there is a cool little bowling center or little mom and pop shops. If you dont mind travelling a little more I suggest checking out Sturgeon Bay if you like "country" types of things.
