Bogut had his resurgence in the playoffs, and was a great post defender. We like having a traditional center beside Josh Smith. If it doesn't work out, Bogut is also expiring at the end of the season. Although he is aging, Vince Carter almost matched OJ Mayo's productivity this year. He was also very efficient and playing good defence. Greg Smith gives us a nice young prospect who is very athletic and one of the top players in FG% this season.
Deal. Bogut did come back to form in the playoffs he is aging and we are going younger plus with him expiring we wasnt going to keep him anyway. Same thing with Carter. Mayo and Patterson are a lot younger and could lead my reload/rebuild. Kaman is basically just a band aid on my Center spot.

Why? Easy dealing. I don't need picks and a ton of capspace. Biyombo didn't show progress last season but he's big and a great rebounder. What do I have to lose. Additionally, I like trading.

Slightly tough to part with Faried but getting back Horford who has been a target of mine for the past few days is great and im confident enough in Derrick Williams to play the backup 4. Marcin Gortat was acquired with a deal like this in mind.

Finally, got a deal that works. I basically upgrade from Paul George to Lamarcus Aldridge and then upgrade David West to Nicolas Batum. It's worth giving up loads of role players to have a starting five of Howard/Aldridge/Parsons/Batum/Paul. I really hate giving up Battier, Withey, and Martin, but I had to in order to match up the salary difference that Paul George's rookie contract presents. Great dealing, Portland and thanks for being patient.
Portland takes a small step backwards in terms of on it's way to contend but we do this to get something we have been missing since the days of Brandon Roy, and that's a player either approaching or HAS that Superstar status. Batum is a year older than George, but isn't the type of player we need him to be. But not only that, but LMA has 2 years left on his contract and Batum 3. Paul George on the other hand another year left on his rookie deal plus can be resigned for 5 more, or 4 more if matching an offer. Damian Lillard + Paul George will be a fantastic reload/rebuild. David West, although not nearly the player LMA is, can still give us an EFFICIENT 17/8. I do feel I gave a bit more value than I'm getting back but I'm not complaining.

Accepted. Been after Granger for a while and he fits with this squad as a scorer/shooter. Everyone knows about his defensive deficiencies but that should be minimized with Smith and Bogut behind him. Granger is also tall so him and Smith can switch defensive assignments where the better player is. Although Thornton was growing on me, I finally was able to move him.

We do this to get the second best center, and possibly the best all around center in the NBA. In the playoffs he proved to be a FORCE. He is also still very young, and locked in. With Dwight all full of drama, Gasol being severely overrated by many, and Bynum hurt, we are very happy to welcome Hibbert to the D, he works hard, and so does this city. Bennet could be great, or a complete bust. There is no gray area with him. Duncan has a PO next year, and we actually think he may retire. Swapping seconds is cool, idc really.

Salaries are damn near perfect. And it's about time I make a trade with these Lakers.
Although giving up Lin and a productive Kaman, Jordan (although considered a bit overpaid) fits in very well with the age group I'm aiming for plus it gives us some sort of hope at Center with the freakishly athletic Jordan starting to develop a post game. Nice dealing.

With Horford in town I was not willing to have the overpaid Jordan sitting on the bench, and to be fair I find Kaman to be more productive and a good veteran. He also comes at the correct cost for a backup.
What can I say about Lin? LINSANITY arrives in Chicago and will be an amazing PG for the second unit, can also play SG. Im okay with him earning 8 mill and not starting as Lin and Jrue combined make less than Rose did, its an awesome duo to be going forward with as well. Lin is also a nice marketing tool for any franchise.

We give up a lot of value, I mean a crazy amount and it's too much, but we get the best point guard in the game, and that's very good. Getting people to downgrade in this game is almost impossible, so we're happy to have a big 3 now.
