Well if this Clippers/Celtics/Doc Rivers deal gets done, we'd pretty much have our choice of either Hollins or Shaw, right? Unless Shaw would rather coach a rebuilding Celtics team, which doesn't seem likely.

I would expect one to go to Boston and the other to be in Denver, but with some of the strange things that have happened the last couple of weeks, who really knows right now?

We're going to interview VDN

Don't do it Kroenke, VDn really sucks.

That would be awful. Vinny Del Negro isnt a coach for the future. Since you are replacing Karl, replace him with someone who is better, not worse.

I really do not understand why they would interview VDN, unless Shaw and Hollins just interviewed terribly or they wanted a 3rd candidate if Shaw and Hollins decide to go elsewhere. It sounds like the Clippers are closing in on hiring Scott if they do not get Rivers. So unless Shaw and Hollins just do not like the Nuggets roster or did not click with Josh, they should be able to get one of them.

I'm guessing its for insurance if we lose out on both Shaw and Hollins to other teams. I'm not sure how long this (coaching process) should take though. Denver only has 3 candidates, 2 in Hollins and VDN you already know what you will get. Unless they have already offered Shaw a contract and he is holding back because he wants to see if he can get the Clippers job first, I do wonder if it is a good idea to take our time on this and potentially miss out on who we want.

http://sports.yahoo.com/news/nba--clipp ... 37296.html\ Looks like the Nuggets made a try or two to get Rivers but he was more interested in the Clippers.

Really really like this. Him being the Spurs player development guy and all and he did a really good job coaching Australia in the Olympics.
From looking at the outside, he seems like a better choice than Shaw.

I will say that many of the young guys with the Spurs seem to have improved pretty dramatically, personally I do not know if I like him or Shaw more, but I do not think either one would be worth taking a chance on.

not a surprise at all. the nuggets aren't going to shell out a ton of cash on their next coach.

I know you prefer a Euro league coach but why would they shell out a ton of money for a Euro league coach, when they can get a guy who understands the league and has a history of developing young talent? I don't care about the money but I hate the idea of a retread like Scott or VDN, let them get a young guy rising through the ranks.

there are a lot of lesser known coaches in the states and overseas that have ability. my opinion was that the nuggets would go for someone like that rather than spend the money on a retread as you call them. just about everyone thought it was down to 1 or 2 coaches. I simply disagree with that.

The article that The Rebel posted says we were prepared to match the contract LA gave to Doc Rivers. Pretty sure he's now one of, if not the highest paid coach in the league.
Either way, Brett Brown sounds like an awesome pick. It'd be nice to have a coach in place before the draft on Thursday, get it done Josh!

Talking about it is one thing... I just can't imagine the Nuggets ever throwing a bunch of money at the FO or coaching staff. It sounds great though when stuff like that is leaked to the fan base. I'm more for reality and Karl and Masai where not high paid guys.
